'03 p5 and '89 4Runner; M5 (wife's)
Hi folks.
Unfortunately, a few weeks ago I was i na pretty bad wreck and totalled my beloved '05 Protege5.
Finally have a resolution w/ the insurrance, and looking for a replacement.
I'm considering moving up to a 3, depending on cost/benefit tradeoff.

What are the differences between the '04 and '05 models? E.g. what was changed?
What else should I be looking out for?
I'll def go w/ 5spd, sunroof, premium sound (or well upgraded by PO) total package.

I know the p5's really well, but not these cars (yet). NOT looking for a racer/tuner or anything, DD commuter.

There really wasn't much in the way of differences between the '04 and '05 model. The biggest I can think of is the '04 didn't have a SAT ready HU and the '05 does. There were fewer trim lines on the early year models, and more options packages, so that can make it more confusing. For instance ABS was coupled with side and side curtain airbags, HIDs w/ TPMS, and leather was a stand along option.

I'd aim for a '06 as you can activate the DIS on the HU (can't on earlier models), and the LCD is powered separately so you can keep it for your amb display should you replace the HU.
