02 protege es
So I bought this car about 3 months ago and have had nothing but problems blew a tire yesterday a second tire was seperated It started burning oil about a month after I got it andto top it off my rear passenger strut snapped this morning car only has 180k and parts are impossible to find I have the air intake duct taped because o can't find the part to replace it I'm not a mechanic by any means. But this is the worst vehicle experience iv had to date
. Is mazda generally this prone to mechanicle failure or did I just get the rotten apple. ( ps yes I'm aware there no punctuation):)

Well, for starters you are supposed to be getting rid of the car at 10 to 13 years old... not buying it! ;)

I don't see how old tires failing is Mazda's fault, that is your fault. I imagine 10 canadian winters did quite a toll on that car and more things will break on it, but that does not make it a bad car when it was built. The strut will be sold locally at a parts store and the intake tube can be purchased online or at the dealer

Any car that isn't maintained will fail, it's not the fact that it's a Mazda so don't bad mouth the entire brand because of your experiences. The 3rd gen protege is one of the most reliable cars they ever built.
