'02 P5 strut brace on '03 ES?

From searching around on eBay and Mazdastuff.com it seems that the 2 are not the compatible?? Don't know why this would be?

I can get a deal on a used one and wondering if it could work.

if you get the tower brackets with the tower brace, it will work.
just make sure the p5 had cruise control, if you do as well.


other than that, nothing a little ghetto here and there wont fix, i have the p5 brace on my LX.

The MSP, P5 and MP3 strut tower bars are identical except for color. Any of them will definitely fit on an '03 ES. I have the MP3 bar on my DX. I bought the complete kit that includes mounting brackets, nuts and relocation bracket.

i can give paul a call if you really want it, and i have all the part numbers for everything you will need. i would have to see your current bracket for the cruise control side. brackets, strut bar, and solenoid bracket(cruise control bracket) will be about $110 from him. what color do you want, silver, red, or yellow because if you want silver get it from mazdastuff.com because everything comes with it already, and if you want the red one, i can talk paul into lowering the price for it and get everything for u, and as for the yellow one, i had one and it was in great shape, but i sold it, i have the protege5 strut bar on mine. the red compliments my emerald mica very well. here is a pic, and im sorry for the engine bay being dusty. i'll try to take a pic sometime tomorrow because i cleaned it like a month ago and it's still shinny. (nevermind about the monster filter, i have a typhoon intake on the way).

except that, IIRC, the MP3 did not have cruise control and therefore will need the cruise bracket to fit an '03 ES w/ cruise.

why Mazda didn't put the brace on the ES is beyond me.

here is a strut tower bar install pdf. it has all the parts u need, but i only bought the solenoid bracket. the p5 strut tower bar and brackets came together for $90 from paul at mazmart. so i paid $10 for the solenoid bracket, and a total of $100 for the mod.

the ES/DX/LX r the same, the mp3 has slightly bigger front sway bars, the msp, has the biggest front sway bar and same rear sway bar as the mp3

i can probably find a front one for you for about 150ish or less with the endlinks and what not, but im not sure about the shipping charge. it's not that bad though because i had it before.

Thanks, I think I'm just going with the silver one on Mazdastuff.com because I think it works w/o brackets for '03s no prob. That or I'll see if my dealership has one for the same price. not cheap but no need to buy the xtra brackets.

that's cool-- I got a RB catback coming too (headbang) I might need a little bit of a hand with sometime as well.... group installs are good. just bought ramps yesterday anyway and dragged my tools out of storage.

Why do you want to replace the front bar. The rear is the major problem, once fixed, you will not need the front done..
