Have you DIY'd your front sway bar bushings??

I've changed the front sway bar by myself. It is a challenge just because there's not much room to work with. First make sure you have suitable clearance under the car. I had my car on jack-stands at the highest point. I would recommend impact tools to get the sub-frame off. The sub-frame...

    Horn Stop Working

Had a similar problem with my Mazda 5. Not sure how similar the horn is with the Speed3 vs 5, but in my case it was a corroded ground preventing it from completing the circuit.

    towing???

I've towed with the 5 with no problems. This load is under 2000 lbs. Here's the breakdown of weight: Trailer: 300lbs, ZX6: 420lbs, FZ1: ~500lbs Total weight ~1220 lbs. Plus a full load of luggage in the rear of the 5. This was a road trip from Toronto to North Carolina. Pulled this weight up and...

Suspnsion Upgrades: How to decide? Most bang for buck?

I bought mine here: http://www.shox.com/appguide/shoxshop/selectmodel.php Select the Mazda 5 and you'll see the pricing. You can also order from them. I upgraded the front end links. But I didn't bother with the rears at the moment. Although I should upgrade them as well. The rear links look...

Any Thoughts on this suspension set up???

The rears are adjustable, but they require the shock to be removed.

Suspnsion Upgrades: How to decide? Most bang for buck?

Just some pics of my suspension work. Unfortunately I don't have a "how-to". But there are several resources in the Mazda 3 forums that are sufficient. The Mazda 3 suspension how to's are pretty much the same as the 5.

Suspnsion Upgrades: How to decide? Most bang for buck?

Doesn't matter which order you do them. If you plan to do the front sway bar yourself, be prepared for a whole day's work. The subframe needs to be dropped and the bar isn't exactly easy to take out even after unbolting it. Putting the new swaybar in is a bit of work as well. Your local...

Suspnsion Upgrades: How to decide? Most bang for buck?

I would say do both. The car feel much more planted with both bars done. This is the rear bar I have: http://www.jamesbaroneracing.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=46_68 And it's adjustable so you can play around with the different settings. and front bar...

Suspnsion Upgrades: How to decide? Most bang for buck?

I've done the suspension bits on my 5 already, (shocks, front and rear sway bars, springs). I can safely say the Mazda 3 and 5 share the exact same suspension parts. However I do not recommend Mazda 3 springs on the 5 because the springs would be undersprung and sag especially in the rear. I...

    09 m5 k&n cai # 69-6010ts

The 08 and 09 is the same. You should be able to use that part for the 09. I had a CAI for an 08 model, but fit my car which is an 09.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Went on a roadtrip from Toronto ON to Deals Gap NC pulling 2 motorcycles and a full load of luggage. The 5 pulled this with no problems. Screaming through the Dragon. I had 5 adults in the car too. Tires screaming like a banshee:

    Mazda 5 Performance parts source

I got my shocks from shox.com. I set my rear to 1/2 turn from full hard and front at full hard. I seem to like that setting. It feels firm, but not excessive.

As long as you get the springs for the 5 and not the 3. The spring rate is a bit stiffer. At full load the rear still drops a bit, not nearly as much as the stock springs.

NEW JBR Sway Bars in Stock & Shipping Now!!

The car corners a lot harder. It helps give the car a bit more over-steer letting you point the car in that direction a lot better. Body roll has been reduced significantly. Before the sway bar install, coming out of a hard corner, the car is leaned to one side; straightening out gives a...

How-To: Replace Mazda5 Rear Wiper Blade

Yes!! I realized that too! I currently don't have the correct size blade on my car right now. I think it takes a 26 inch. I went with a 24 inch, which still works.
