As far as a custom exhaust is concerned, check on ebay for some pipe. You can get 2, 4' pieces of straight 3" pipe for about 30 bucks, get a couple of pair of mandrel 90* bends for about 45, a welder (preferably tig), and go to town. Make sure everything lines up, though. Use the stock exhaust...

Don't worry about the fiberglass just yet. Get you a pencil and paper and draw out what you want your box to look like, then measure your car, and cut your MDF base. That should be the first thing you do. Like all those guys have said, make most of your box out of MDF. Fiberglass is strongest...

If you're a sound quality freak, mounting it directly into the floor isn't the best route. If you have the room, mount it on a piece of wood (insulator). This prevents any type of ground noise associated with screwing it straight into the metal. Just my $.02

Just like some people have mentioned before, I'd go with Adire or Resonant Engineering (Respl.com). They make some excellent subs (for both sound quality and SPL). Just my $.02... btw...this is my first post, so yeh. Hopefully I'll be getting a MSP sometime within the next few months.
