Are you talking about the rear license plate or the front? On the rear there was nothing to hold the plate, just two screw holes in the rear deck. It is the trim piece above the rear license plate where the light bulb shines on the plate.

I put 17" wheels and Winterforce snow tires from Tirerack on my wife's AWD '08 GT and it drives like a tank. I have to try hard to spin those tires. Great bang for the buck.
