    Kartboy SS hitting heat shield

I don't know if your the same as my P5, but my TWM came with spacers to stand-off the heat shield a bit - could easily be done with a stack of washers or a short piece of pipe.

Why did you buy a Protege 5?

Well that's an interesting and similar story to my own, I saw my first P5 on my way home from an Ikea store I was building (I'm an electrician) late in the year 2001. It was yellow, it looked fantastic, and I knew that despite being a 4 door (not what I was looking for) that this would be the...

    Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Last time I parked way out in the back lot, soo far away from everyone so no one would scratch me: some jackass stole my rear emblem scratching the s*** out of my paint. Now I risk the dings.

    How To: Shaving Side Moldings.

I'm right there with you, I don't mind walking so sometimes I'll park way out in the empty back section of a lot, no cars within 200 feet, and I ALWAYS return to find some sheep parked beside me.

    P5 vs. Work Van

I wish my work Van could accelerate as fast as my Protege, then maybe I wouldn't be stuck behind Bozos doing 40 in a 60 zone. But alas it's an aaarrgghh - ford econoline. Now THAT is a POS!

Spec -V Falls Hard to the Protege5

As opinions seem to be rampant around here, let me offer an educated one: I say this because I test drove a SPEC-V and liked it a lot. It was very nice to drive and VERY quick - altogether a finely built Japanese automobile, Much like my protege (minus the quick at the moment, I'm afraid). If...

    Canadian Aftermarket Parts

I've found it useful to go to the site of the manufacturer of the part I want, and looking at their supplier list for someone in Canada.

P5 Discontinued - Should I Still Buy One?

I gotta say I envy you guys who say that the P5 is uncommon in your area, around here (Canadian West coast) they're EVERYWHERE. However, no regrets I love my car and no matter how common they are they still look great.

p5 or mazdaspeed, that is the question

Also gotta consider the moonroof, the cruise control, and the convenience of a hatchback all of which you can only get with a 5.

    Mazdaspeed, a few questions...

Hey Bzz, I was waiting for someone knowledgeable to come along and answer your questions, but since they haven't, I'll try: 1) Manufacturers suggested fuel type is very important, the higher octane reqs for this car are due to the change in combustion temp. due to the extra air forced into the...

    Canada Rulez!

Only one complaint about living in Canada - too many smart people, the roads are covered with P5s! (in this area anyway)

    Which springs to buy?????

Actually, the camber remains perfect, one thing I did need pretty bad was a wheel alignment, for which I needed to ask around a few places to find somewhere that would even touch my car once it'd been lowered (like I've sinned somehow).
