    Little bump in the trunk

Very clean install. I like how it all looks. I got to get some people on here trying out some new brands though. I think some of you would be surprised at what they have to offer. And don't think I am saying anything negative about RF. They make some nice subwoofers.

    New Amps (US AMPS)

US Amps makes solid amps. I ran an md2 awhile back, and it worked great. Put out a lot of clean power, and had no problem with 1 ohm loads. I even tested it out at .5 ohms with no problems, but I wouldn't suggest doing that. Also, I can get US Amps/RE if you are interested. Send me a PM and...

    JL audio system going in!

JL makes solid stuff. I have owned many of their different lines, and to date I have been most impressed with the W6's. They have very good sound quality. But usually for the money, there is a lot better out there than JL. They probably make the best equipment out of the commonly known...

    sub issue

Okay first of all, SET THE GAINS PROPERLY!!!! The gain knob is not to be used as a volume control. By turning them all the way up like you have, you could be sending a clipped signal to your subs and risk damaging them. Also, the problem is most likely with the input signal. If you do hear...

Fresh Paint job for my Wife's Miata!

Looks WAY better than before. Nice work there.

Will small subs fit under front seats?

I would stick with a stock stereo before installing a Bazooka tube. I would sacrifice a little area elsewhere and get a good sounding setup, instead of something you won't be happy with that doesn't take up any space.

    efficient/high power speakers?

Not sure if there are any local Cadence dealers around you. But I do run the CVL's in my own car. If you need something that will get really loud, they will do that for you. I like my music incredibly loud, and even I can't stand keeping the volume up more than 3/4 of the way. Since nobody...

    efficient/high power speakers?

This is the info I got. Take it with a grain of salt, because I have no proof of it's validity. But I heard hemp acoustics bought the XBL^2 technology, and basically bought out adire audio. Then instead of using Adire employees they fired them all and went with their own guys. That is just...

    efficient/high power speakers?

I just signed up today! Seemed like a great community here, and I noticed it is 100% performance so far. You guys really need someone hooking you up over here. And www.Adireaudio.com for information on them.

    The $1000 Audio Challenge!!!!!

I will try to come up with something. I paid more than $1000 for mine, so it doesn't really fit in here. But I know for $1000 many great systems can be had. And free samples for the moderators LOL.

    efficient/high power speakers?

These look like they would fit the bill. Let me know what you think. I understand how loud things can get after engine modifications. And with the windows down you will want something very loud. We can talk price on just the components if you are interested. CVL Edit: And you must be...

Brand new sub, dead in less than five minutes?

I can help you. First off, when you are blowing fuses, the last thing you want to do is upgrade the size of your fuse. That is dangerous and not a good idea. What we need to do, is figure out what is causing the problem. First off, what fuse is blowing? The only way to blow a fuse, is by...

Amp and Sub Installed - Pix Included

Looks like a very clean install. Good job hiding all the wiring, I always find that to be the hardest part. Just hopefully the amp doesn't get too warm under that seat. And that pioneer HU you are looking at is top notch. You would be very happy with it.

    Rear speakers installed

whoa! whats that funky smell? (56K beware)

Agreed, that does not look safe at all. I would take that out as soon as possible, and then later do a much better job at putting it back in safely. If you need any help with installing let me know, I could walk you through it and make sure you aren't doing anything dangerous.

Brand new sub, dead in less than five minutes?

If you have a DMM you can check to see if the amp is putting out power. Also, the amp could be the problem here as well. If your amp isn't working properly it could be sending a clipped signal to your subwoofer causing them to blow prematurely. If I were you, I would use a DMM, set it to...
