Try a machine shop or body shop. Have you owned the car since new? It almost seems like it could have been previous accident damage.

The connector or ECU could be damaged. You could try disconnecting the battery. That's the only way I know to "re-boot" the system.

You may have blown a fuse. I see two going to the microcomputer. You might have damaged a wire depending upon how you tapped into it. I couldn't find a green wire on the instrument cluster wiring diagrams. That means it changed for 2007, or it doesn't go to the instrument cluster.

What was the color of the wire you tapped, and exactly where did you tap it? I have the 2006 wiring diagrams. I don't think the 2007 varied that much.

Have you noticed any strange behavior in the temperature gauge? Also, did the white smoke smell sweet? When the car is cold, take off the radiator cap. Is the radiator fluid looking brown or milky? Are you sure it's white smoke and not light blue? White smoke usually means antifreeze/head...

I would guess that within your "light damage" a wire was chaffed or a clip was grounded. Could the lights have been pushed back slightly?
