If you take it off at midpipe it will vibrate the hell out of everything, but at idle u can hear a nice turbo whirling. I have mine off now with a pipe running to the side of my car so the sound wont be traped under the car and be so obnoxious. I've had it off for a month or so and like it off

I like my smic we have similar temps as you do and have never had a problem. ( I also took $5.00 and about 30min to hooked up an intercooler watersprayer from the windshield washer pump, incase i do have any problem it might help)
