As long as the threads are the same, you can put anything you like as a shift knob. Havent tried myself, but if the gearbox is based of a 6, I cant really imagine they would change the threads on the stick... doesnt seem logical to me... but who knows...

I understand your aggravation. My dealer seems ok, but when I asked about the PCM, he said that the PCM never was updated... Im thinking about bringing in the bulletin on my next visit.

There are some other posts regarding led mirror thing... most of what I have seen, it appears that you have to do some splicing. I guess I dont see the big need for blinking led in my mirrors...

How hard is it to install these different kits like the Xcel Intake etc? Do you have to be a mechanic, or is this something you can do yourself...

Stupid foot parking brake!!!! Need more power (more is better) Reminds (sometimes) me of a Mini Van when driving (cant see the hood) Kind of got used to my Outback, so a trade in may come in a year or so... for a Outback turbo... Not sure yet too soon to say. With that said, I LIKE the car!

If there is something that can be done to get the 0-60 down in the lower 6 secs, it would definitely be something I would consider... As for the top speed, it's not that important... 117 mph is fast enough, but I read somewhere that the European one was set to go somewhere around 130 or so...

Looking at the specs for the RX350, i suspect that you will have some similar MPG as the CX 7, if you can afford the extra $ I probably would have looked at Lexus RX 400h instead...

I noticed it too, but as CXRabbit... I dont watch my speed that closely... unfortunately that also has led to a couple of tickets... but that was with my ex-Outback... ;) and it has a mark every 5 mph

Yeah me too... or even sooner, going 75-80... coming from Norway with curvy roads, highways here are straight, relatively boring and should be used to get from A to B in a reasonable time, not looking for a parking spot... ;)

I forgot to mention that I miss the auto light feature I had in the Outback... I am used to start the car and the lights are on... Driving with lights on is safer and it is easier for others to see you coming. and as dmitrik4 says a manual trans would be nice... I really don't understand why...

I had a burning smell in mine as well, when I asked the dealer, he said it was something that was sprayed on to protect it during the overseas transport... I still can smell it sometimes, but it is getting weaker and weaker.
