Really when you think about it that is not too bad from a dealer. The vehicle takes as much material as a FX45 to cover the high impact areas. I know Infiniti dealers getting $1600 for theirs. $700 sounds cheap for a car like this. Of course cutting out the dealer will save you money for sure. :)

This is true, but between what a pain in the rear it is to take off the fabric bra, the fact you can see it from 200 miles away and the damage it can cause $400 is a small price to pay for looks, satisfaction and no worries from damage from rocks and other road debris.
