    OK, major issue now...

as another member posted, that sounds like a DPF regen cycle. My BMW 335d does this as well. It's a totally normal emissions related process with modern diesels. Personally, I hate it because there is no control over when it happens and no indicator that it's happening (other that the car...

Crazy owner of two Mazda CX5

I like my wife's a lot too, but I drive it enough not to need one for myself.

    Matte White CX-5

I still think 22" looks a bit too big, but your overall package looks great.

    Rust-like spots on Pearl White

I had never heard of this before, but after seeing this thread I googled it and it sure seems to happen more often to cars in Canada and Northern US states. Interesting. Glad I've never had it!

    Still Waiting...

I just did a search when I was looking until I found one at a nearby dealer. It wasn't that hard and took zero days of wait.

    19" Wheels and Tyres

Yes they would fit and yes it's perfectly safe. Your speedometer would be off by less than 1MPH (and it's probably already off anyway). When I have altered overall diameter in cars, I've often made the speedometer MORE accurate than it was stock ;)

Owners manual oil & tire differences

other countries probably got the mileage Mazda was hoping for while using 5w30 due to the 14:1 compression and better octane gas. To achieve their target in the US, Mazda probably sacrificed some potential longevity by switching to piss-thin 0w20

    19" Wheels and Tyres

When it's time to replace them, put 235/50/19 or 235/55/19 on and call it a day. The circumference isn't that much different (1.5%) and there are many more tires.

    Aftermarket HID kits

the raptors are fine as far as reliability goes, etc...but I much prefer the slim kit for the additional $10 http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W I've run both kits in numerous cars. The slims are just easier to mount and hide. FWIW, I installed the slim...

Transmission: Manual vs. Auto with Manual Mode

I drove both just to see how they felt. The automatic was one of the best automatics I have driven. That said, the manual was infinitely better. The shifter is short, tight, and precise. The clutch has great feel. It feels much quicker than the auto in all driving situations, plus it gets...

    Interior Lighting

I second this. I know the owner of DDM tuning, and have been buying stuff from them for years....back when HID kits were $300. I've purchased a handful of their slim $40 kits and they are fantastic. Lifetime warranty on the ballasts and bulbs...

    Interior Lighting

only if the lowbeams are already on. I will also add that the 4500k in the lowbeam work very well, as the projector design in the CX5 is pretty good. The cutoff is sharp and the light output is fairly even.

    Interior Lighting

I installed LED in the DRL...wasn't bright enough. This was before I realized the DRL is also the high beam...LED obviously makes high beam worthless. So anyway, I installed some 2500k halogens in the DRL instead. This makes the DRL nice and yellow, and makes for a bright yellow highbeam. I...

    Thoughts about wheel upgrades

well, Mazda supposedly put the "skyactiv" tech into the whole package. That means keeping unsprung weight down too...

    Break in period?

meh. Drive it 80% how you plan on driving it later in its life. I've always done this...never had an issue.

    Thoughts about wheel upgrades

You guys are crazy to put 22" wheels on this thing. It already doesn't have tons of power....why sap even more of it? Plus you'll drop the MPG on a car that is designed to sip fuel.

    Gas mileage question

Sport manual, averaging 30.8mpg so far in mixed driving. Not driving like a weenie, not racing all day either.
