Tein S-Tech Springs - Opinions please

I really like mine. Have had them about 2 months now. I have never rubbed with my stock wheels and tires, and have no clunk or rattle from the rear like some have had with lowering springs. I have the stock struts still. Definitely recommend them for a street spring...would probably want...

    Steering Adjustment

None that I know of. You just need an alignment to set your toe correctly.

    eibach "clunk"

Also, double check that the swaybar nuts are tight...I left one just slightly snug, and when I hit bumps it would shift and cause a clunk. I have also heard LOTS of reports of people having clunks in their rear suspension and folks think it's caused by the swaybar hitting the lower control...

I got something in the mail today.....

Cool deal, I think you'll like em. I love mine :)

    Protege5 insurance

I pay about $650 (US)/6 months. 25, single, one fender bender 2 years ago (backed into my roommate's car in the driveway, DOH!) no tickets less than 3 years old. It just went down though...before I turned 25 it was about $900/6 months.

    Tien S-Techs on a P5 (installed w/ pics)

It's just the picture probably...here's my drop on Tein S-techs.

    Just installed STechs

Other people with lowering springs have had that clunk in the rear, but I have never heard it on my car with the S-techs... Check to make sure you have the swaybar bolts all snugged down really well. I didn't have one of my front swaybar bolts tightened enough and it caused an anoying clunk in...

Tein S-Tech Springs - Stock Strut Life?

Or you could do it yourself and just enjoy the bonding time with your car :) It's really not that hard to do, and once you have the lowering springs on, you won't need a spring compressor anymore to change the struts since there is almost no tension on them when the strut is off the car.

Tein S-Tech Springs - Stock Strut Life?

I've had the Teins on my car for almost 2 weeks now. I think the stock shocks will be ok for a while. It's noticable that they are a bit weak for the stiffer/lower springs as the car isn't as "tight" as I'd like it, but it's certainly not bothersome. I plan to replace the shocks in the next...

Pics of bronze wheels on red P5s?

    Awesome guys!!! Thanks!

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

Hard to say about clearance. You would definitely need to be cautious about the front bumper when pulling into parking spots so you don't smash it on curbs. As far as pulling into and out of driveways, I haven't had any problem yet...it doesn't seem like the stock bumper lip is low enough to...

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

Thanks :) I haven't noticed hitting the bumpstops during my driving yet. The Tein spring instructions recommended not cutting the stops on the Protege, so I didn't. They seem soft enough so that if you WERE to hit them it wouldn't be jarring...more of a progressively increasing stiffness as...

Pics of bronze wheels on red P5s?

Thanks for the link, keep em coming. The bronze sub-zeros are darker than those in the pic, but that gives me an idea. FWIW, here'a pic of my P5 in it's current state if anyone is fancy with Photoshop :) I might give it a try tonight. http://www.nramsey.net/tein2.jpg

Pics of bronze wheels on red P5s?

I'm in the process of shopping for new wheels. It looks like it will likely be Rota Sub Zeros in 17 or 18" (haven't decided yet) in either silver or bronze. Does anyone have any pics of red P5s with bronze wheels? Doesn't have to be sub zeros...just wondering if I like red/bronze combo. I'm...

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

Having driven on these for about 4-5 days now, I just wanted to mention that I haven't heard any of the rear suspension clunk/rattle problem that most with lowering springs have reported. It's as quiet inside as it was with the stock suspension.

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

From what I've read on the forums both the Eibachs and H&Rs are stiffer than the Teins...more performance oriented I guess. From what I've seen the Eibachs don't lower the front end quite as much as the Teins, I think they lower like 1.6" front. Don't know if that .2" would even be noticable...

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

Thanks :) My friend and I went out and took some moving shots of each other's cars. That one turned out really well. I have a high res 1600x1200 version too if anyone is interested: 1600x1200 version

Tein S-Tech springs installed (with pics)

Thanks. I agree, a CF lip would be nice. Do you know which ones are available? I've searched a bit, but haven't really found any.
