    Automatic Car Washes

    1. We don't all live in Texas, some of us have to deal with this stuff called 'Winter' which makes automatic car washes almost a necessity. 2. P5's have clearcoat, except for Yellow - some people with yellow have established they have no clearcoat. I go through automatic car washes with my...

    Toronto P5 Pricing Help

How about you go to www.mazda.ca and select the P5 and "Price Your Own" to work up numbers based on your situation.

    rust spots on rotors

I don't see any indication in the inititial post that the guy is talking about anything other than the normal micro-thin layer of 'rust' that forms when any car sits undriven for a while especially after being washed or after rain. Read his post again. The next time the car is driven, this gets...

Mazda Is sending a Special Tech....

I must have missed a lot. Maybe after reading all this again you can explain your comment . I read information in this thread about one (1) problem.

Mazda Is sending a Special Tech....

I read your many words and several times you mention "all of the problems with my car". I agree that it is most frustrating to have intermittent problems that are difficult to fix, but you have decribed one problem , specifically idle speed variation that sometimes gets to point of stalling...

    Buying P5 in Canada

I bought my wife's P5 in March at Markham Mazda. Now, they weren't a pushover, but some persistent haggling did result in $1000 off the bottom line on a Red P5 with Auto and Air. And the deal included no payments for 90 days, on 3.9% financing over 3 years. If they have a lot of cars on...

    Buying P5 in Canada

As to where to buy in Toronto area, I just drove by Markham Mazda, they have a sh*t load of P5s on their lot... must be at least 20 of them. I suspect they are mostly 2003s by now.... but even on a 2003, you should be able to negotiate for around $1000 off list price, when they have that many...

    Buying P5 in Canada

Of course you can save a lot up front if you pass on the 'Mazda Added Protection : $1,450.00' I never considered the extended warranty for a minute. You have done enough research to know that you are buying a quality product. Any manufacturing defects should show up well within the standard...

    i'm finshed... for awhile..........

Sorry to hear about your ride , as you said it's fortunate nobody was hurt... it doesn't help you now, but I guess you learned a tough lesson that 'speed limits' apply to dry roads, not icy/wet conditions. Live and learn....

Forgot to pour oil into engine!!!!!

This is why I always try to hang around the service bays when my car is being worked on and keep an eye on things (what else is there to do at the dealer anyways after your 3rd cup of crappy coffee)? If you don't make too much of a nuisance of yourself and get in the way they usually won't...

    Rust Proofing

In my opinion that number should be 5 years in a Canadian climate. You will likely see rust, possibly preventable to some degree, well before a car is 10 years old if you do nothing. I have used Krown on all my vehicles for over 10 years. Yes, they drill holes (they are capped and hidden)...

    Question about the Pro5's foglights!

I found the same thing. Solution: Re-aim them. Remove one nut from the back of the fog light and the assembly comes out the front. They are mounted on a bracket with an adjustable pivot. Don't aim them too high though, or other drivers will get blinded and give you the 'signal'. Note that the...

    Winter Floor Mats

Re: Re: Winter Floor Mats Well, $55 US, plus shipping for front mats... after convetring to Canadian $ I would have to take out a second mortgage on the house for these fine mats....so I'll check out the cheap-ass but reportedly good Pant Saver winter mats at Crappy Tire.

Anybody here get good Canadian Pro5 Prices?

Silenttype, I'm sure there is no intention to mislead anyone... but without knowing what is on the cars you are quoting dealer invoice price on, the information you posted is just not that useful... for example you did not specify whether this hypothetical car includes air, auto, sunroof...

Anybody here get good Canadian Pro5 Prices?

A little education is in order here on US / Canada exchange rates, which will show that in Canada we actually get a much better deal on the P5 than our American neighbors. The US$ is equal to around $1.60 Canadian. So, on the P5, our $19,895 CDN base list price translates to about $14,200...

Anybody here get good Canadian Pro5 Prices?

Umm, what lambofsilence posted is that a car equipped with options that add up to a list price of $23,695, has a dealer cost of $22k. That sounds about right to me. Dealer cost prices are no big secret these days. If you claim to have info that dealers cost is 'much lower than that'...

Anybody here get good Canadian Pro5 Prices?

Get the dealer to start with a blank sheet of paper with the $19895 list price and show you exactly how he got to $23,300. Then you will know what's in that bottom line price and whether it is right. Then go for at least $1000 off for a 2002 model . (I got $1000 off my P5 in April)...

usually what is the distance your P5 can run???

Comparing mileage (and this entire thread) is a meaningless excercise, as all these factors affect your gas mileage and no 2 drivers/cars will be the same: 1. Transmission - Auto or Manual 2. Your driving 'style' 3. Driving conditions (use of headlights, A/C, heater) 4. Road conditions...
