Thank you. I'll look at the thread. Whenever I try to search, nothing pertinent to what I need comes up.

I've already had the Bluetooth/ handsfree module replaced and my iPod still doesn't work. I've given up on iPod altogether for my car. Looking at the compatibility list from mazda, there are like 2 generations and two updates that are actually acceptable for my radio. Anyway, I'm using a thumb...

    Seats fraying

I'll post pics and it's still under warranty. And I have the touring package so they're cloth seats.

    Seats fraying

I have an 04 CX5 with about 25k miles on it. I take care of my car. The interior looks almost brand new (I vacuum and wipe down interior to preserve the look of it). My question is I've noticed all of the seats starting to fray. The driver and passenger front and rear seats are all fraying. I...

How long do OEM tires last?

I was surprised to see what the thread rating was on these. It's a really soft rubber compound so I don't expect long lasting thread. I currently have about 21k miles on my car and probably have around 50% left on the tires. I almost crapped a brick when I saw how much they go for on Tirerack...

What car did you trade in for your CX-5?

2011? Mazda3. Loved the car but it was close to 100k miles and I was really worried about the engine failure that seemed common with them. Never fancied myself in a SUV but here I am. I don't regret it at all and I'm still happy I did it. I love my CX-5.

How to remove wax from black plastic trim?

It's been said before but I'll say it again... a PENCIL ERASER. I promise it will work.

    Paddle Shift Install - 2016 CX-5

    Oil Change Question

If you're getting them at the dealership, they will put in what's required. Honestly, it's a no brainer. Get your free oil changes and then worry about the next president.

Are there compelling performance mods for the 2.5??

Mike, you do realize factory tunes are extremely conservative, right? Thanks to EPA regulations and companies not wanting their engines to suffer damage, a tune on a stock vehicle doesn't nearly come close to the engines potential. So why do you think it's impossible to gain 40 hp from a...

    paddle shift on CX-5

It's $324 for the steering wheel. Adding everything else or getting a used one from a junk yard wouldn't cause $1000's!!!! You're disassembling the steering wheel anyway you look at it. I'm a little leery of doing a modification by some guy on the internet who did it and hasn't had any ill...

    2016 CX-5 Oil Change Frequency

This is why you don't take advice from forums... Ideally, you read the owners manual and do what the engineers tell you to do. This guy/gal has NO idea what they're talking about. First, the 0w-20 is a synthetic oil. It reduces friction which in turn gives you better gas mileage. Why? It...

    paddle shift on CX-5

Wouldn't it be easier to get a steering wheel with all the hardware on it (mazda 6 or Canadian cx 5) and just plug and play?

Guide CX-5 Factory Remote Starter - Install and Program

You don't have to worry about that at all. Our cars have the AWS system. You can literally start it and go as is stated in the owner's manual.

    Skyactive engine break in

Put it in neutral, rev till redline and then throw it in drive. Repeat for 20-30 times. Seriously, read the owners manual. When other people say to do one thing contradicting what the owner's manual says, ask them to see their master's degree in engineering. Until those people have ANY idea...

    Premium gas

You only use what the manufacture tells you too. There is quite the common misconception that higher octane somehow give you more power in your vehicle or "cleans" the engine out. Higher octane has a higher combustion point. It actually acts like a cooling agent in forced induction vehicles...

    0-20 oil vs 5-30 oil

0W-20 has low viscosity. Mazda, along with several other car manufactures, recommends it because it will lower the friction threshold in the engine which will in turn give you better MPGs.
