On my 2001 Protege, there is a small section of steel line from the rubber hose attached to the strut to the wheel cylinder. It is fairly rusted and works fine now, but I want to replace it to be safe. How hard is it to do this? Is there a pre-made one? Any tips? I've already replaced the wheel...

I purchased these a while back and they only include philips head screws, however my Protege only has the holes for attaching them (no sort of nuts or anything included)...

So my (now former) mechanic was wrong. A set of new OEM Mazda sockets fit just fine and lock into place exactly as expected, so I'm guessing he either gave me back the wrong ones or they were not for a Protege in the first place.

I am looking for these everywhere, but it seems they are only at Mazda dealers and a few Mazda websites that sell online. Each little clip is approximately $4 and I need a full set for the front and rear, so that's 12 x $4 = $48. Seems a little pricey. Anyone know if there are any generics I can...

I sent them an e-mail with the issue and didn't get any advice except to file a claim with PayPal and they'd issue a refund. Don't know why, but they ended up refunding the whole thing.

Forgot to mention that the rear signal lights work when the new front turn signals are installed, but flash quickly.

I recently got a new set of aftermarket headlamps for my 2001 Protege. After they were installed, the signal lights stopped functioning at all and attempting to use them gets a quickly flashing indicator and clicking. The funny thing is if the old signal light sockets are connected, they work...
