    Need a torque wrench?

Just FYI. I just went to Sears and they are selling out of their craftsman torque wrenches (made in the USA w/lifetime warranty) for $15 a piece. I am sure this is not just a local phenomenon.

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

My light was never "blink blinky." I have not posted any statement that it was. Not sure where this is coming from. The light stops blinking once you perform the initialization procedure or turn the ignition on and off. Again, what issue you are speaking of? I don't see a "problem."...

    K&N Air Filters

The car had 100hp. If you looked at it wrong it had a noticeable performance decrease. 01 SuperCrew was the only pickup truck I ever test drove (for the fun of it). Yeah it was fun. Perhaps Ford MAFs have a sensitivity to the red k&N goo.

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

This may help: "The BCM stores the steering angle reference point using battery power supply. Therefore, if the following operations are performed and the power supply to the BCM is interrupted, the stored steering angle reference point will be erased." And another excerpt: "If the steering...

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

No obviously he didn't, or I don't recall. That was the initial question. I bet there's about 10 or 20 people have eaten spicy food. You know, I don't see any posts on this form about heartburn. Man, that means not a single human gets heartburn. I'm really not sure where you are seeing...

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

Still not understanding your logic. You've basically stated that since several people don't know about something, it doesn't exist. You must know far more than the master tech who pointed this out to me in the first place. Have you attempted to look outside the forum for this? A simple...

    Pcv?

Just got the PCV valve. It looks like the O-Ring might get pulled off when you try to remove it. The rest of it is just a grooved hard plastic shell.

    K&N Air Filters

Every time I've used a K&N I find my MAF sensor gets covered with the red goo that they put on the filter. It's just not worth pulling it out and spraying it regularly with MAF sensor cleaner spray. There's a great comparison of air filters here...

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

I most certainly do not follow your logic here. A simple google search would have been a better option before posting something so enlightening as "this sounds off" (eyeballs) . Just about every car with VAPS and TCS has some sort of reset procedure. This isn't anything new. I've owned 14...

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

Whenever one disconnects the battery or the ROOM fuse, the steering angle sensor must be reinitialized. This is why the TCM light is on when you start the car for the first time after disconnecting the battery. If you don't do this right, several systems can be affected (Traction Control...

Steering angle sensor reset? Engine off or on?

    - My AllDataDIY account says to turn the ignition to the "ON" position. It does not indicate if I should start it or not. - I probably need to disconnect the battery for the spark plug + PCV change. - It was just aligned, and reset, and the steering is so perfect. It drives straight as...

    Night mode? 2008 Nav

OK I always leave my headlights on "AUTO" so I thought something was wrong. Today I hit the dimmer cancel button and it's now switching normally. Thanks!

    Night mode? 2008 Nav

I just drove around with a blazingly bright nav screen at night. I have the nav screen set to "Auto" instead of day or night mode. It never seems to change from day to night mode. Is there a way to set the time it switches over to night mode?

    Pcv?

From the service info: A new PCV valve must be installed if removed from the cylinder head cover. Upon removal, damage will occur to the locking mechanism on the PCV valve. That's all I know

    Backup Camera Question

I wouldn't have a car without one. It's a safety feature and a convenience feature. If a friend of my family's had one, when their kid ran out behind the car before they backed out of their driveway they would have seen him. They wouldn't have ran him over. The kid spent a month in the...

    Pcv?

Yeah it's pretty easy to change PCV's usually. I had one car where it was not just a valve, but an oil separator, all sorts of wild plastic boxes and tubing that went down in front of the firewall. Somewhere in that mess was the actual PCV. I am reading up on how to replace this. There's...

Just got back from my 1st road trip in CX9

I'm very jealous of your Parada Spec-X's. I had them on my Toyota and have to wait for these Goodyears to die. They are such an awesome tire

    Pcv?

Should the PCV valve on these cars be replaced as a maintenance item? It looks like it's roughly $47.

Just got a CX-9 GT 2008 AWD - what to check?

I will take a look. Good info. However I do seem to be in the range of VINs for that loss of power on hills TSB. Is it appropriate to ask the dealer to do a software update on the TCM and PCM (to the latest)? I haven't experienced this symptom yet, but I'm planning on driving up a...

Just got a CX-9 GT 2008 AWD - what to check?

OK So I have an appointment with the dealer to do the following: - Trans service (for sure) - Power steering service (for sure) - Coolant (if required) - Brake fluid (if needed) - Diff service (for sure) Thanks for your help. I would use an independent, but I have a warranty and right now I...
