This seems obvious, but I'd rather be safe than sorry- having my crankshaft fall out on my head... You can remove the MBSP with the engine still in the car, correct? It is a support plate, but it doesn't hold the main bearings themselves; so the crank should still be held in with it's own bolts...
If you got rear ended, the dog would appear to fly backwards since the car is being pushed forwards (from the reference point of someone standing on the road). If the dog was in the back seat (as mine is) then they would rest against the back seat, not fly forward like a missile.
But in the...
I get really concerned about what might happen to a dog in the hatch area if the car was involved in a rear-end collision (if the P5 was rear-ended, that is). Me, I just can't feel safe with my dog back there. Then again, she's not really buckled in at the rear seats either- but at least she...
Thanks. I had some "running hot but not quite overheating" issues. The fan was coming on, which I figured eliminated the ECT sensor. Still, I found the specs in the manual and tested. It tested fine indeed. Replacing the thermostat and radiator cap corrected the issue.
Seems like the coolant temp sensor would be documented with the coolant system in Engine 01-12, but I can't find it. Anyone know where it's documented? Thanks!
Having waited more than a year to install my front sway bar due to many people claiming it increases understeer, I can tell you now that I wouldn't listen to a single one of them. The MP3/MSP comes with both RB bars, and it is noticeably flatter around corners than the P5 without any extra...
I posted this elsewhere, but it is most applicable here:

For the most part, I just followed the how-to on here. I found some of the steps needless, however. I can recap the process that I followed as such:
Remove four-point brace. This is 4 bolts
Remove the rear-most nut from the front-to-back brace that the front engine mount attaches to- 1 nut...
I just learned recently that this is distinguished by the term "loaded" or "unloaded". A loaded caliper is sold with the pads in place- a straight up bolt on. An unloaded caliper is sold as just the caliper itself- no pads or anything.
If the bolt is sticking out 3-4mm, then you could take a hacksaw or sawzall and cut it off flush with the engine block. This might remove the busted extractor. Then you could drill it out as usual and install a helicoil...
Why not just buy the unit from the link supplied and make it work for the P5? It's just wires... I'm sure the Kia also uses a 12V system for the windows.
