I agree, it looks dope. Personally, I like the overhang because it helps proportion the car better and help mask its FWD roots. Have you seen the Mercedes CLA? You can tell it was their first attempt at a FWD based car. Hideous.

The base sport model deletes most of the chrome and looks a lot cheaper on the CX-9. I get what you're saying though. If done right, chromeless at least looks sportier.
