    intanke manifiold runner control ???'s

You probably do have the solenoids hanging out somewhere connected to the plugs connectors and one of them is probably sticking intermittently. Not that it matters.

    High idle problem.

It's not likely due to the flywheel. I've been running the Spec flywheel which is almost the exact same for several years now without issue. What clutch are you using?

What happens if timing is retarded a little bit?

Hmm let me double check... Not 100%, but the Gates Timing Belt Guide says it is interfence style. The overlap could be very minor though. Anyone every broken a tb on an fsde? Did it need valve work afterward? If so, its interference. Personally I've never tested to see how far out you can go...

cars been running like s*** for aawhile

You should be seeing around 20in/hg or a lil more at idle. If not you likely have a vac leak. Is the car throwing codes at all? Are you sure the ignition coils were replaced?

    Simple problem

Tighten power steering belt or replace and set to proper tension.

What happens if timing is retarded a little bit?

FDSE is an interference style motor. Not getting the timing set right when doing the timing belt could cause contact between pistons and valves. Not sure how far you are out, but its not a good idea.

    Joep Fpr

Sounds like you either have a significant boost leak or your wastegate is stuck open. How is the car running both in and out of boost? Does it feel like its only boosting 1 psi? Is the CEL on? Any codes? What are you vacuum readings at idle? No matter what the boost controller is set at, it...

    Joep Fpr

The JoeP FPR is a gimmick/band aid solution to a problem that needs to be solved by tuning. I would not install it unless you have a wideband O2 and display installed and can monitor realtime AFRs. There is no telling what effect that thing will have on your air/Fuel mixture under different...

    intanke manifiold runner control ???'s

The solenoids mazda used for vtcs and vics control can go bad or get stuck. I've seen the same solenoids used on other mazdas fail. If the code does not come back, you should not really sweat it. I doubt it is goning to be the issue with the screws coming loose because you would notice symptoms...

    3 dollar WGA insurance tip

No bueno guys, there is a problem with this theory. If you install a one-way check valve in thw WGA vac/boost line, once boost is applied to the WGA it will never bleed off. So yeah, your turbo will overspool, but never create good boost. If you add a bleed hole, then get used to boost spikes. A...

    awr oil pan

I have an AWR oil pan on my car and yes there is a possible issue. The lower rear portion of the oil pan is extremely close to contacting the end of subframe where the front of the lower control arm attaches. With AWR front & rear motor mounts and AWR inserts in the sides my oil pan is less half...

    Stock MSP Turbo Manifold

Looking to buy a stock msp turbo manifold. Must be in good shape with no cracks. Respond to this thread or pm me. I may be moving to cali and some stuff needs to go back stock for now. I have lots of msp performance parts and may be willing to trade something.

Few Questions for California MSP owners

I believe I may have run into a more significant roadblock. My stock turbo manifold is cracked and leaks. I know I will not pass with an exhaust leak, right? I have a thunder manifold, but I'm not sure how that will affect the visual carb inspection portion. I know it does not have a carb...

Few Questions for California MSP owners

Well, going back to completely stock is not an option. I'm more interested in what parts would make me fail. Some things like the 626 intake mani with the 2 non functional (and hidden) solenoids for vtcs and vics are not ever going to get changed back. The forged internals, drivetrain upgrades...

Yeah, I still have just about everything. Just was not sure if I need to go that far or not.

Possibly moving to San Diego area. Info needed...

Cmon, I know some of you guys have modded cars, even MSPs. Nobody can chime in from the San Diego area, or from any California zip code with expanded emissions standards?
