    alright - here goes. KL-P5-take2

The KLDE auto trans will be even more unreliable than a fsde engine, they are absolutely horrible. A klde makes enough power to easily overheat the trans, add the extra power of a ZE and it's service life is cut down further.

    Heat Soak/open closed loop.

Same exact problem here, and I have a FMIC and stock turbo running 9 psi. Every time it does this my wideband is pegged at 10.0:1 AFR. When it doesn't bog It stays in the 11's. The ECU has to be pulling timing as the car just falls on its face.

WTB- J shaped coolant hose that goes to the turbo and the engine

Tap a fitting into the aluminum block where the radiator hose goes and run the coolant line from the turbo up to it, then get the j-piece from a regular protege. It will cost way less than $80.00 and you'll never have the problem again.

I've never seen one with the vacuum reservoir connected to the manifold like that. Also the top runners seem to be shaped differently.

1 more year of payments for me. At least I'm at the point where I could sell mine if I wanted and have money leftover after the payoff.

forged crank vs not forged crank

I have a fully rebuild 98 626 engine in mine, the crank had the cast stamping on it. I've been pushing 9-10 psi on it for 2 years and 30k with no problem. I'm not really worried about it as more than likely the rods will give out before the crank ever does.
