OE mfr seats w/ long tracks

I think I know what what you mean, but pics would be cool. The older Jeep seats were on hinges so the whole thing would kind of lunge forward. Those are really tallt though so they won't fit.

OE mfr seats w/ long tracks

This isn't really for my P5 but I'm suspicious the crowd is right... I know many of you have replaced seats eitehr in your P5 or other cars. I'm looking for an OE seat, or aftermarket bracket mfr, that has a long travel to it. E.g. long distance between most forward and rearward. This commonly...

    I Hate Curbs!

Rockauto.com very good prices, at door in 2 days or less. I'm a little curious how it cracked the rotor. Keep in mind if you have to replace the strut, you'll want to replace the other side too. Chance are if they're original, they're shot anyway. Rockauto has the front KYBs for only $55.

    Searching the Country on Craigslist

Problem is, when people list on CG they don't provide their zip. so the best you could do would be the central zip of the city hosting the CG listing

    Stabilizer end link removal

Yup, ones from NAPA did indeed come w/ nuts. Lets see they're 17mm socket which means M12 bolt? All the other M12s are 1.25 so i'd bet that is too. So I tried all the civilized methids... no luck. So - out came the HF grinder w/ a 4" cutting wheel. none of this Dremmel pansy stuff, when I get...

    Struts leaking, replacement time

Yeah my end links were toast. unf they are very much stuck to the swaybar, it's going to take a lot more profanity to get them off (pissed). I went ahead and ordered front mounts w/ new bearings too, figured at 130k might as well change 'em as well

    Stabilizer end link removal

LOL that is EXACTLY what happened to my D-side, rounded off w/ impact. I *knew* should have started off w/ the lighter otuch, but after the otehr side was so stuck I was like F-it... now I'm payin gfor it. I soaked them both in PB blast last night before bed, and again thsi AM... gonna try...

    Struts leaking, replacement time

Not really, just deformed and pretty floppy from use. A little sign of cracking, nothing major. I figured they couldn't be expensive, sicne I'm changing eveyrthing else might as well swap those too.

    exhaust smells funny?

If you did a complete heead rebuild, the first 10 minutes is just breaking in the cam... I'm assuming you did a cam "break-in" right? Keep in mind the cam, lobes etc are coated in cam lube (or should be!) typically it's red. That stuff has to burn off etc, yes it will smell unusual. Thinsg will...

    Stabilizer end link removal

Aaaaaargh trying to replace my struts... in general fairly simple task... except that the end links for the stabilizer/swaybar are shot. Is there any magic trick to getting them disconnected from the swaybar? The nut is in an awkward place and facing backwards... and very, very stuck. I'm...

    Struts leaking, replacement time

Does anybody know the proper name/part number etc for getting the upper rubber coil sping mounts? On the rears they come integral to teh upper nount, but not the front. Can't find a listing anywhere.

    Struts leaking, replacement time

Oh and thanks, but I think I'll be good... you're a good hike from me. Will need to get a comrpessor though. Not a big fan of the autozone ones, but for free - I'll deal w/ it.

    Struts leaking, replacement time

I'll prob just go w/ the KYB gr2s, (that's stock right?) can get them for $55 ea from Rockauto, that's hard to beat... What about the upper mounts? Typically worn too? The bearings in there - do they just pop out, or is it a press-fir thing? soem come w/ bearings, otehrs do not... no reason to...

    Another one bites the dust!!

Just get ready for a fight w/ the insurance co. over the price, they will lowball you on it for sure. The CCC s/w they use tends to be pretty unrealistic about the cost of actually buying one. Start looking NOW for P5s anywhere w/in 100 mi of you... at dealerships etc, full retail price... I ran...

    Struts leaking, replacement time

I'll do all 4 corners. However I'd really rather keep the ride comfy and quiet, w/ no intent of racing so I doubt I'll lower it or anything. Do the strut assemblies typically come w/ anything else? Include bushing for where they connect? Any other parts that need replacing at the same time...

    Struts leaking, replacement time

Went to get my new-to-me '02 inspected today for MD registration (grrr what a PITA) and goit flagged on the struts leaking oil... at 130k I guess it's well past time. Only front were flagged but I'm almost wondering if I might as well do all corners. Leads to 3 Qs - 1 - is there a preferred...

    Got my replacement P5

I know it's been many thousand miles since install. Yes, def loud on startup (kinda nice rumbly, actually), low RPMs and getting going from stop. At highway speed (like 65-75 MPH) it's like a constant drone. My first thought was the cheap tires, but if I pop the clutch while cruising it goes...

    '02 vs 03 differences

How odd. I just bought an '02 w/ date 9/1/01... has the latch behind the seat (for the pull-over strap), but not the lower ones that are buried under the seats...?

    Got my replacement P5

brought home my new-to-me P5... '02 5spd sunroof etc, 130k miles.. Seems in good shape. only upgrade/non-stock thing is poly mount inserts. Enough left from the insurance payoout of the 03 for stereo upgrades, sound deadening etc, cash on hand for repairs and still much leftover to save for the...
