Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

Update - rack is doing just fine. 21lb road bike works fine at 80mph. Heavy MTB (non-disc) works fine too. Fat tires to large to drop into the tray but can still strap it to the rear. MTB is a bit heavier so I've taken it easy. I'll add an aluminum plate under the bottom screws soon, just as...

    My steering wheel vibrates

I don't. Poor alignment can cause cupping wear as well. Struts factor in as do bushings that are put under pressure. Once the tires are worn poorly the problem won't really "correct itself" once other issues are dealt with. You'll probably need new tires as well.

Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

I used a cheapo rear bike rack a few times with no problems. If you mount it high enough on the rear hatch the straps don't touch the spoiler.

    My steering wheel vibrates

Since you already balanced the tires the alignment should be done again. If that doesn't solve it then it is probably the wear on the tires from the previously bad balance or alignment and you'll need new tires. If you rotated the wheels around you should be able to isolate a wheel that is...

Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

Pics I'll sell the Thule Cross bars and make my money back so all in all I'm fairly pleased. I'm thinking of putting a "zoom-zoom" sticker on one of the trays where the "Thule" goes just for $h!ts and giggles.

Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

I installed it and will take pics today. I found that the stock Thule allen bolts are just the right length to mount through the bike mount, and then through the stockl rack without hitting the sunroof when it is in the Tilt position, so I still have full functionality. I will have to drill...

What have you done to your P5 today?

Put the roof bars back on after 5 years without them. Geeze, this wind noise sucks. It's howling at 80mph. Oh well, I wanted to put bike mounts up there so I'll have to take the good with the bad.

Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

OK, so here's an update for others looking for racks. I got some used Thule bike mounts and took a good look at them. Everything looks solid and they are built to last. I reinstalled my stock crossbars and took a close look at them too. They are very sturdy and are made of aluminum just like...

    car seat in a P5

Yes, carseat in P5 works. We had a Graco car seat in our P5 with the base that you clip the rear facing seat into. It fits in the center section with the bulk of it going between the front seats but you've got a harder time attending to the baby unless you sit back there with them, which we did...

Roof mount Bike rack solutions with stock crossbars?

I like the raptor upright bike carriers, probably makes it much quicker to just mount and go. I have road bikes though, so no muddy rooftop for me. do you use them with the universal factory roofrack mounts they sell for $40? I think that looks like a good option for the P5 if it is fairly...
