    Delphi Control Arms

Going from memory here, I had my LCA's replaced at ~60k miles because of bad bushings. I used OEM Mazda because I didn't know of a reliable aftermarket brand and they weren't too expensive at the time at ~ $165 each. Today they cost considerably more and I would go aftermarket if needed again...

2016~2023 CX-9 Front LCA bushings and leaking shocks

LCA ordered. I also decided to just go with replacement struts for now, since I want to get new tires this year. If I do get coilovers in the future, I will probably go with SqueakyCleanAir coilovers. They're a Canadian manufacturer, and their cost is only $1400 for the coilovers. With shipping...

Clunking noise from driverside front has mechanics stumped

Had a shop do the LCA's and tie rod ends on my 2016 CX-5, last year (click). Took them almost 5hrs to accomplish, on a lift. I watched much of it. Had I attempted it myself, at home, I'd have likely ended up in traction. But some might be able to more-easily accomplish the task.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

...sitting in the cabin. After jacking the car up a bit, I confirmed that the front right strut is leaking and the bushings on the front right LCA are shot. So those are up next on the to-do list, but they can wait for warmer weather. This is shaping up to be an expensive year for the car...

2013 Mazda CX-5 Front suspension “clunk” sound

Yeah, as others said, LCA's are often the culprit for this. But that tie rod end looks shot too.

    Higher Mileage CX-5s

...but just reporting in that just about 12 years in (bought it April 20, 2013), still going strong. Needed front suspension work last year (both LCA's, struts, sway bar links) in terms of major work. Otherwise still doing normal maintenance. I will probably need to think about dropping the pan...

    Changing front struts, any recommendations?

...even live in an area that uses straight up salt (we use mag chloride), but still had plenty of rust and I had a hell of a time getting any of the LCA bolts off even with high torque impacts / air impacts. It's not a fun job. I try to get the underside of the car cleaned off after a snowstorm...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

This’s an unbelievable price for the OEM LCAs! This just to tell how much the inflation has been in the US in recent years! I paid $285.23 for a right LCA which is 20% off from current MSRP $356.52 in March. The same OEM part is only $105.34 in Japan?

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

...Even though I didn't do the job, I can't see much of a problem getting things lined up. I will mention that a big reason I purchased OEM Mazda LCA's was I wanted a quality part that fit, not some aftermarket that complicates the job and ties up the lift and offers no monetary savings in the...

2014 CX-5 Lower control arm grease

...has been making clicking or knocking sounds on front passenger side - brand new shocks and struts but sound still there .. took a picture of my LCA bushings and noticed some weird grease but these aren't liquid filled right? Also what do you guys think of the condition? Could this be the...

CX-5 Wheel play up, down and side by side

If the OP decides to change the LCA(S) themselves, I would hope that they read about other members experiences here and what an absolute joy and picnic it was to do the job.

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Going through all that trouble to replace LCA for just some Bushings.. hm. Replace the end links first. Shop around. I think you'll be happy with the result.

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

That's interesting. As reported on another thread, I agree it's hell to get the pinch bolts and ball post out, but I had no problem getting the new LCA's on at all.

    2014 CX-5 100k service

I understand what you’re saying. In fact even if the 3 connecting rubber all separated on LCA bushing it won’t cause any safety issue other than big clunking noise and fast tire wear. And in old days we only replace the rubber bushings but not the entire LCA as the labor was much cheaper...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Yeah took me about 4 1/2 hours to do the driver's side one, and then about 2 1/2 hours for the passenger side one. I had a lot more help for the passenger side one.

2013 Mazda CX-5 Front suspension “clunk” sound

...a street into a place with slight elevation. now, it happens a lot even on small bumps as long as the wheels are slightly turned. per mechanic, its the LCA ball joint. ill have both LCAs replaced together with inner and outer tie rods soon ill do the front stab links and bushings after that

    CX-5 Clunk

It's only over rough roads. It doesn't happen when turning or even going over speed bumps. I'm leaning toward LCA after reading the replies.

    2014 CX-5 100k service

These cars' LCA bushings seem to clunk first and fail second. Very little movement (if any) detectable until they fail.
