    Got Smoked by A........

Okay, so the wife and I went cruising again this Sunday morning. The P5 was just newly washed and waxed by yours truelly and we were profiling down the Coast road. It was a beautiful day. Sun was out. None of that California morning s***-fog. On the way home I noticed this Miata behind me...

My Weekend Drive on My P5

So I just finished breaking in my P5 and I decided to go for a day ride out in the countryside. I chose a bunch of curvy roads for lots of fun driving. It's so much fun driving in the twisties in a great handling car like the P5. Even my wife, who is normally pretty restraint was having fun...

    An Aussie one

Very nice. Subtle, but definitely the way I'd do it. How do those 17" tires handle bumps on the road? BTW, I also have the FAST silver ones. :D

US roof rack better than CA ?

Yakima makes what they call the "Mighty Mites" attachment to factory US roof racks such as those on the P5. They're USD25.00 items you can buy from almost any sporting goods stores. It consists of four small attachments you bolt on to the factory cross bars. You may then attach just about any...

    20" Wheels On a Hummer H2! WTF!

I once saw a Ford Explorer filled with teens flip over going 3 mph! Freakin' walking speed! They were making a U-Turn when the thing climbed the curb and the driver must have floored the throttle and WHAM! Flipped it upside down in a second.

    20" Wheels On a Hummer H2! WTF!

I went to go visit my local stereo and custom wheel shop to inquire about a possible upgrade of my P5's sound system. Guess what they had in the shop? A 2003 Hummer H2 being fitted with a killer stereo AND these humongous 20" chrome rims with low profile Pirelli tires on it! Goddam ugly SOB...

i need some advice on looks

On a yellow car, you want the wheels to be silver coated, NOT polished. Polished wheels look cool on metallic colored cars. But standard colors (like yellow) look better with painted rims. And yeah. Go with black tints.

check out the mexican version of p5

Of all the Latin American countries, Mexico is the most well off. So, they're not that bad off and their economy is actually relatively strong. Thanks to NAFTA, their oil, & Uncle Sam. ;)

    Keeping the P5 clean

Gee I thought I was anal about my car's cleanliness! Wash once a week. That's all you need unless you drive through dusty or dirty roads. Don't use those automated carwashes. And those high pressure hoses.......I hate 'em. They're good if you got mud caked on but for the car's finish...

    P5 Speakers & Amps

SirNuke, you've already answered my questions. But yeah. I have no idea what happened to my original post. The subject is still there but the thread is gone. WTF?

The Stock REAR SPEAKERS ARE 6 INCH!!

Another great piece of info for those of us looking at upgrading our speakers for our P5's. SirNuke, are you adding an amp or just wiring the new speakers directly to the HU? Post your opinions on the way it sounds after the install pls.

Rear speakers that actually fit in the PR5?

That is great info Sir Nuke. Thank you very much. I was looking at the speaker specs from Cruthfield and they list Kenwood's Exelon series speakers (6.5" & 6x8") and both speakers go down to 30 Hz with a 92db sensitivity. Pricey suckers though ($149/pr). But if I can believe those specs...

Rear speakers that actually fit in the PR5?

Crutchfield actually specifies how much the tweeter projects above the main cone on ALL their co-axial. Most of the time, the tweeters project something like 1/16"! Very small and may not be visible to the naked eye but when it comes time to mount a stock, flat speaker grille.....

Rear speakers that actually fit in the PR5?

Can you use the grille that comes with 6.5" coaxial speakers? Or you have to use the stock grille that's on the door panels?

    what octane gas to use?

Motorcycle engines seems to tolerate lower octane ratings better given equal compression ratios than their automotive engine counterparts. Perhaps it has to do with displacement difference. I have a GSX1300R Hayabusa with a 11 to 1 compression or so. It tolerates 87 octane just fine. In...

    Mazda Protege Racing in Speedvision

Does anyone know the name of the race series that regularly features the Mazda Protege's? I saw one the other day in Speedvision totally by accident. The race had a bunch of Mazda Protege's and even a P5 in a variety of colors and wheel combo's. Very nice looking race cars. They also had...
