Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

I likED my dealer when I bought and for the first few years. They went down hill. The first few services are what? Oil change? I know a Regional Service Director. He is a friend of a friend I met at friends party. Got me the employee discount. He told me that he absolutely is more helpful to...

Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

No probably about it. Also true, though.

Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

I obviously disagree with most, not all but most, of your post and stand by what I said. As more and more car companies make the switch to "Lifetime", surely more and more transmissions are failing? Tranny failures should be WAY up... I don't know a single person, personally, that has...

What is your CX-5 “Must have”?

That's on my DO NOT WANT list. I HATE that feature. LOL Press the button...and waaaaaaaait..... Have it on my sedan but it only unlocks it and pops it up a bit. You have to manually close it. I like that.

Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

I am a big believer in long life tranny fluids. Not lifetime, of course not. I love how you say he "claims his transmission is in good shape"... I'm sure he knows. I personally know many examples of very old tranny fluids and I've seen countless examples online. Here's the thing about tranny...

Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

I know we like to bash dealerships here...and pretty much every car forum...but to say "No dealer can be trusted with a tranny flush" is a bit much. I would trust my dealer to do this.

Show your CX-5 Winter Wheel & Tire Setup. 16" Wheels?

Same. as going to buy some steel wheels from Tirerack. They wanted $79 each for new 17's. For an extra $80 I bought a set of black rims that they were trying to get rid of. Checked after I bought them and they had 2 left. So I got the last complete set.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I clean my engine bay every year on all my cars. I use nothing more then water and some brushes. Might take a bit longer, but I enjoy it. Haven't done Betty the Mazda yet, but soon.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

It is first and foremost a discussion forum, and I am not telling anyone "what to do". Nor did I say it was BAD. I said overkill. And I stand by that. ;)

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I am, hands down, the first person to give someone a hard time when I hear "I like to baby my car..."...I have a friend that literally tries to keep his RPMs under 2K...seriously... The first one to tell anyone who thinks a CX5 is 'slow', that they aren't driving it right if they aren't...

Turbo and NA - Let's love them both

Are you thinking of me? I posted a snippet (post #25) from the online manual for a 22. IME the "Detent" is the kick down and agree it only triggers the transmission to downshift. Just like every other 4 cylinder I've owned.
