You know, its not a huge difference but deffinatley noticable. If it matters i have the stock 03 and JIC catback. The sound with stock muffler is great. Just more of a growl. The fuzz wont even look twice at you.

I ran mine for a short time this way. It is very nice to have a quiet exhaust! In the end I decided to sacrafice the noise for more top end. you could always just swap out the muffler when ever your feeling frisky. Doesnt take long.

Well its 97 Deg here today. Still no problems. Where it hangs is actually about 2" lower than the filter itself.

I left mine hanging.

To stay legal in CA, you need to have both cats. you could always run catless and swap out the catless for your stock pipe come smog time. Dont know how bad the cops are in your area but if you are caught with out your cats , it is a hefty fine.
