New Stereo Install-(similar to DSS 3 digital)

I purchased the unit as a test unit from a distribution company in China. I'm testing it out in the effort to conduct a group buy later this month. I want to make sure that the unit is quality and meets my expectations before I offer it up for sale to anyone else. I also want to know that I can...

New Stereo Install-(similar to DSS 3 digital)

I don't have factory navigation but this unit has it. I haven't been able to test it due to the fact that the SD card was attached to the outside of the box and was damaged upon shipping. I inquired with the seller and they'll be sending me a new SD card at some point. Future shipments will...

New Stereo Install-(similar to DSS 3 digital)

After having this stuff sit around my living room for two months, I finally got around to installing everything. Basic Specs: *Caska head unit with digital screen-it's like the one at caradvanced.com-but a digital screen. I bought a test unit for possible importation for sale in the US. *JL...

Audio upgrade complete. Will it hurt the car.

I tend to agree...on my recent install-I made sure to keep the power and RCA lines separated. RCAs are run down the door sills, power is run down the center console. I'm running two JL Audio amps (250/1 and 300/4) using the stock battery and I have no whine, no power dips, no dimming lights...

    Mounting amp under seat

I built a mount using some 3/8 plywood, spray painted it black. I made a cardboard version first for fit/clearance. Both brackets (one for each amp/side) took about 20 minutes to make/paint. I think it took longer for the paint to dry than to make/mount them. They both clear the rear vents...

    Component crossover placement

The water that gets into the doors is on the 'outside' of the door-and that's sealed off from the 'inside' pretty well from the factory. Prior to mounting my crossovers, I did a test with colored paper mounted to the inside area of the door panel-then drove the car into one of those automated...

    New MS3

I just looked at the postings-they jacked up the prices from a week earlier-looks like they're ~1k higher now.

Do you think many people paid attention to that in the movie? I didn't catch it the first time... I'm loving this car! The shifting has a slight learning curve (from other cars) but it's been a lot of fun to drive. I'm used to torque steer from my Maxima. I'm forcing myself to wait a month...

    New MS3

Thanks for the information! I don't know what's left-they're on cars.com in Evanston, IL at Autobarn. There were only a couple left (the fully loaded ones)-mine is the 'stock' GT because I didn't want all of the other stuff. If you contact them-get in touch with Mike-he's the GSM. Great...

Okay-I need a little help with posting: How can I quote more than one post in my reply? It's 1am and I can't reply to everyone by doing it one at a time. So, for everyone else- Thanks for the welcome reply. I look forward to learning a lot from everyone!

    New MS3

I thought so too-but they bought a ridiculous number of cars-then they built a new dealership, put a bunch of them into storage...and then '09's came in so the 08's somehow wound up staying in the warehouse (they originally had over 50). The GSM started advertising on cars.com and that's how...

    New MS3

I almost hate to admit it-I originally wanted a black or grey car but they sold two days before I made it to the dealership. Once I started looking at the silver, I knew it would be the best color...I'm glad I got the silver-the other two would be a b**** to keep clean.

    New MS3

I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE that's being sold next week. It was a great car but it doesn't hold a candle to the Speed, which is far more comfortable to drive and handles a lot better (even with suspension mods on the Maxima).
