sorry if this is a stupid question... is it possible to replace the cats with hi-flow cats without changing the muffler look and staying very close to stock sound? I want to flow better, and I don't have to worry about emissions here, but I very much worry about volume.

Have any of you noticed big differences between gas brands? When I had my honda I ALWAYS used Holiday gas, the engine just felt better. So I've continued with my msp, but with 93. Holiday is the only station around here that offers 93 octane, everyone else is 92, definitely no California...

uhh, IIRC stock pressure is 6.5, you're right it's not 50% increase, only 38.5%. If we look at it this way, the turbo is giving us 30hp right now above the stock motor with is 140hp, at 6.5psi. If you divide 30 by 6.5, and multiply by 9, you get about 41.5. So if the unichip were only...

back up here a sec... when a stupid exhaust system can cost $1k, and engine management can cost $1k+, and suspension work can easily bust that much, and the other intake/exhaust/turbo stuff might be $2k more, wouldn't you expect someone who's pushing their msp like this to be able to plop down...

I agree that it seems a 20hp increase from a 50% boost increase doesn't really seem like the ECU is doing much on its' own. If it tunes our car properly so that it's safe to boost at that level, and allows us to pull it easily and untraceably to avoid warranty problems, well that's a good start...

Heh, I'm AutoXing my msp as well, and I love it! But seriously, how bad do the drivers of those RX-8 and STi's have to be to get beat by a first timer in an MSP? Pretty damn bad! I've done remarkably well in just my first couple AutoXes as well, the MSP was made for this kind of racing...

Well, yesterday I got my raise, so I went to Morrie's after work and bought my speed. They're installing the winter wheels/tires and the moonroof, and making sure the ecu/bushings are taken care of, and I should have it tuesday night or so. I can't wait!
