d'OH - Just realized this question was in reference to the P5 - my bad. It really is too bad Mazda didn't do a 'Speed version of the P5 - if it existed I would have gone with that instead.

I'm glad I got the MSP. The gas mileage could be better, but it feels much more solid than my old B13 Sentra. The Sentra ran like a champ 10 years, and could probably go another 5+, but the MSP should serve me well for a long time. It's definitely the most entertaining commuter car I've ever had...

I was thinking about getting the Apex DP with a high-flow cat as well, and replacing the rest later. Stupid question: is a turbo back exhaust the same as the DP plus everything behind it?

I would have liked the blue or titanium, but the dealer didn't have them in stock when I got mine in black. Oh well. The black looks decent (or it will when I wash away the road salt). I like the 03.5 wing better, but front end of the 03.

Is the Injen guaranteed to bring out the turkey? Spending $200 on an intake vs $350+ on a DP would be nice if the HP gains are there, but I wouldn't want to spend another $100 on a problem created by a mod.

What DP are you using? What are the HP gains with just a DP and keeping the rest of the exhaust stock?

I've been getting 22 or 23 mpg in mostly city driving since I got my MSP. I keep the tire pressure at 32, and generally try to keep RPMs below 3K. It is unflashed. Does the ECU flashing really have a big effect on gas mileage? What else can be done to bump up the MPG?
