    Mazda5 vs CX-5 wheels

Your 16x7 rims with +40 offset should be just fine on your new Mazda5. I think you are right not to use the 225/70/16 snow tires since they are going to be much taller than the car has clearance for. I'm currently running 205/60/16 snow tires and even that is slightly taller than the OEM wheel...

2012 Mazda5 brake pad and brake rotor replacement

I was shopping around for my 2012 and between Rockauto, autoanything.com, AutoPartsWarehouse.com, and Tire Rack I was able to find the Centric High Carbon Cryo Treated front and rear rotors for the Mz5.

    JBR Passenger Engine Mount

Has anyone on the forum installed a JBR passenger engine mount in their Mz5? I ask because I'm interested in getting one for my 2012, while swapping out my OEM mount into my wife's 2008 Mz5. Anyone have any feedback on this?

I installed a westar pmm on our 2008 and it only lasted for a year. I would not buy it again.

Do you have another "non-family" car in the driveway? Looking at getting a second car

To it being uncomfortable, you can also add lack of cruise control as something the 2 door Yaris had going against it. For me cruise is a deal breaker.

Has anyone tried to fine-tune their car?

Lower fuel economy??? That can't be right, or heavily desired.

    Intake ...header...exhaust for the 5

Yes of course 2008 has the 2.3 and 2012 has the 2.5. I was only referring to a swap of the cat back exhaust between cars, not manifold etc.

Are you going to install Koni Sports or Koni FSD shocks and struts?

    Intake ...header...exhaust for the 5

Usually the intakes will cross from a 3 to a 5. Not sure about the headers. A cat back exhaust from a 3 likely won't cross directly without some custom work. I recently asked my local Mazda dealer if the stock exhaust from my 2012 Mz5 would fit directly onto my wife's 2008 Mz5. He said the...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

I moved to my 2012 Mz5 from a 2004 Corolla with the 1.8. My Corolla was a 5 spd though and it was still fun to drive plus being the gas sipper you mentioned. Over the 88000 miles I drove the Corolla I averaged about 30.5 MPG overall combined. In my 2012 Mz5 I've averaged about 23-24 MPG...

2002 Protege Poor Gas miles solved

Sorry about your poor mileage and all the money you spent on your car. BTW, this is a Mazda5 forum. The folks in the Protg forum may have better answers for you.

    Post pics of your Mazda5

For my own taste, I dislike the "stretched" tire look. Any wheel that is 8 or 9 inches wide needs at least a 235 series tire. That's just me.

    Sliding door lube?

I have used silicone spray a few times/year to lube my rollers and other door hinges/mechanicals. It pays to also clean off the lower door track too since that gets gunked up worst.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Did you do just a drain and fill or did you flush out all 9 quarts? Drain and fill will only get you about 3 quarts. You'd have to do this 3-4 consecutive times in order to get the bulk of your fluid changed out.

How-To: Replace Mazda5 Rear Wiper Blade

I once replaced my rear wiper with the "replacement" blade you can find at Advance Auto. But it never really wiped the window well. It would always miss the upper third. I bought another OEM blade from the dealer the following year and it worked perfectly.

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

Has anyone installed the firestone rear spring helper airbags on their Mz5? Do you think this would help with rear suspension demons on these cars? http://www.etrailer.com/susp-2012_Mazda_5.htm

    It's brake time

Carbon fiber or Para-aramid. When I do my brakes I'm going with Centric (Stoptech) Para-aramid pads and the High carbon or Cryo-treated rotors. Only 37k miles on the car now and OEM brakes are still doing OK.

    It's brake time

Decent pads are not very $$$ so I'd just get new ones. You'll kick yourself later if you dont.
