    Rear oxygen sensor out again

When I bought my Protege with 100K miles on it, the rear O2 sensor was bad. Replaced it right away, now after 30K miles the car just threw the P0037 code again. How long are O2 sensors supposed to last? Engine is completely stock.

    Grounding the head unit

Per the stickie thread, I grounded it to the chassis. There is a vertical metal bar right behind the head unit that had a hole already there. I used a 8mm bolt/nut that I had laying around. The new deck sounds great, with no extra background electrical noise.

    Grounding the head unit

Just got a new single din deck for my protege. Is it better to ground the headunit to the chassis or to the ground lead on the factory harness? Edit: Never mind found the info in the sticky. duh..

Front and rear tires with different aspect ratios

I can understand width but how about different sidewall heights? 45 vs 50 series, same width 205. edit: After doing some searching I decided it is not worth the risk of finding out how badly the handling and braking will be effected by running different diameter tires.

Front and rear tires with different aspect ratios

Here's my situation. I've had my 01 Protege ES for about a year now and the front tires are severely worn. Rears have about 80% tread left. The previous owner installed Primewell PZ900 in 205/45/16 size. When I got the car I put on MSP struts/springs and RB rear sway bar. I want to switch to...

    Noise after rear brake job

I just replaced the rear rotors and pads on my 02 ES. Upon accelerating the driver side rear makes a sound like the pad is dragging on a warped rotor. The sound goes away when I apply the brakes. I've tried both tightening and loosening the piston adjustment screw with no improvement. What...

    Comp Issues

I just read this article on the OBDII Drive Cycle. You can reset the computer by performing the drive cycle. http://www.aa1car.com/library/us796obd.htm

    Comp Issues

In all my other cars, to reset the computer I would disconnect the battery and step on the brakes for a minute. I don't see why it would be any different for the protege.

    Strut Help

I would also check the center nut. I thought I had mine tight but once I got the car on the ground it became apparent the nut was loose. You can use a vice grip to grab the lip of the strut mount from inside the car to help you tighten that nut.
