my engine is new ...and my trans is fine..both spin over fine when apart...but as soon as i bolt them together they jam. nothing in between has changed...any ideas?

autos dont really have "gears" they have clutches that drive it

if it were me i would just cut the corner off thats rubbing. wont hurt anything...

direct bolt in...i had the 1.8 trans bolted to a 2.0 so your good

Keeping the MSP! ordered an engine at LKQ..its an 03.5 with 13,8k on the odo. comes with turbo so i may sell off the old one ..it needs rebuilt or something im sure the bad motor made it collect oil...

i had the same exact issue. turned out to be a bad cam sensor

NEW UPDATE: car keeps blowing 10amp engine fuse in interior and pink 30amp underhood. any ideas on that one?

SUCCESS!! it starts! (bad cam sensor) although now it wont idle long or rev up at all! but it will start and idle for about a minute! ok now to next problem. it back fires ATON! through intake and exhaust. and if i try and rev it it back fires and stalls EDIT ADDED SOUND CLIPS 1st is just idle...

#1 is furthest cyl from trans. Although i dont think it makes a diffrence as # 1 and 4 fire at the same time.

lol i fully understood it man :) what i said was IT IS at TDC when the marks are lined up ;) sorry i should have made myself a bit more clear so that leaves what? burnt valves?

ok update: i tried to start it again with the intake off..the back firing is coming from intake which would indicate timing. but according to the marks its timed right..any ideas>?

as far as i know they are. it dosent crank if they arent plugged in
