    Kinda related: Mazdaspeed RX-8!

Twiztedjeckel, thank you for enlightening me. How could I have ever guessed that they're two completely different cars? We compare different cars all the time. Eg - which car looks better, the MSP or the Spec-V? In this case while they are different models, they are both made by Mazda. I...

    Kinda related: Mazdaspeed RX-8!

I don't like it. The lines are all messed up, that body kit is really nasty, and the roofline generally reminds me of a mercury cougar. (not the new one, not the old old one) What happened to the clean, sexy lines of the RX-7?

    SCCA Classes for Mazdaspeed Protege??

It's my understanding that the limited-slip differential precludes eligibility for the MSP in STS, but I'm not sure about STX class. Here in Manitoba we don't have street tire classes, so I have only peripheral knowledge of them.

Any more pictures from Detroit of 2003.5?

The MSP looks nicer. It is faster through the slalom. It has a better stereo (reportedly). It is a limited edition model. Sport compact car ranked it well above the Spec-V in their battle of the sport compacts. The Spec-V is cheaper. ($4000 in Canada) It's seats have much more aggressive...

    Titanium grey paint?

Anyone know if there are any special qualities to the 2003.5's Titanium grey paint job, similar to the gold flakes on the Spicy Orange? Or is it just a plain grey?

    Tire Fitment Question

How wide are the steelies? If they're 6.5", no worries. If they're only 6", there might be cause for concern. I'm not familiar enough with the Falkens to know if they're a wider tire. Remember, 205 can be different from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Any more pictures from Detroit of 2003.5?

Yeah, a bunch of people had promised a bevy of images, earlier last week. Where's the follow-through?

Some help for those who can't decide between Orange and Titanium

Hmm, that IS a really tall spoiler. Or at least, it looks that way. I prefer the 2003 spoiler and rear bumper. They look more aggressive than the 2003.5, IMO. Thanks for the effort, Grimace.

    MSP in Canada

Jonny, there are a bunch of threads about the orange colour in the mazdaspeed section of the forum. Have a look there, instead of asking everyone to re-write all their posts. Your other questions should be addressed to your local Mazda dealer. Grimace has probably summed up the likely...

And, I thought the IS300 looked sweet.....

The Spec-V was at the top of my car shopping list for quite a while, and I'm still considering it instead of an MSP, because it's $4100 cheaper. (I'm in Canada) There's no real question in my mind that the MSP is a better car all around...it wins for styling, handling, interior, audio, etc...

    Help?

I read your posts, Lawerence. :) Congrats on the decision, Newf. I'm patiently waiting for my dealer to get their hands on one, so I can have a good look at it. I'm 22, and I don't have a problem with having a flashy car that stands out in a crowd. I autox, and keep my racing off the...

    2003.5 ?! The 2003's were just released.......

Not quite, there are no fog lights. The rest are cosmetic: spoiler, front and rear bumpers, exhaust tip, and the pedals and shifter say "mazdaspeed" instead of "sparco." Oh, and yellow stitching on the seats and steering wheel instead of orange. I'm pretty sure that's everything.

new pics of my RED P5

Very nice. My Aunt bought one just like it, and it looks great. Mazda sure has some nice colours.

    Help?

Indeed, thanks for the anecdote, andr3w. It would be nice to have a similar experience when I finally see this car in person...time will tell.

    Help?

Newf, I'm in almost the exact same situation as you. I'm looking foward with earnest to some kind of release date for the grey MSP's. And confirmation that us Canucks are actually getting grey ones. But, unlike you I have not even seen an orange MSP in person, because there aren't any in my...

    2003.5 Yellow MSP Pics

Lawerence, that's good to know. I'd read that they were cheaper replacements, so I relayed it. Even still, IMO the shift knob that says "Sparco" looks nicer.
