    2016~2023 CX-9 ATF Oil Cooler No 2

I'll have to remember this post if I ever run into a situation where I need to replace my rad. I also wonder how much this plays into the other markets having a tow capacity of ~4100 lbs vs 3500 here in N.A.

    2016~2023 CX-9 ATF Oil Cooler No 2

Is this something we can add into the N.American vehicles?

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Didn't want to upgrade to the Corksport Turbo Inlet piping while it's apart? LOL

    2016~2023 CX-9 Common Repairs Thread

Yes. They replaced the entire OCV and the plastic engine cover (didn't feel like cleaning it?). Was never enough to see any changes (significant an otherwise) to the oil levels between change intervals, but just visual (I, like probably many others on the forums, actually look inside the...

    2016~2023 CX-9 Common Repairs Thread

2022 CX-9 Oil control valve (small leak) replaced at about 45k kms. I think this is a common issue on these motors?

2.5L NA Cracked Cylinder Head with Oil Leaking

Yes. It was all under the powertrain warranty at the time. Mind you, it took them over 6 months to get the parts in (at the time). I was told to just keep driving it around and come back in to top up the oil if it gets low. Only had to top it up once in the 10 months from symptoms (smell in the...

2.5L NA Cracked Cylinder Head with Oil Leaking

I had a low oil warning once (not a CEL) after a cracked head diagnosis, prior to the parts arriving for the repair.

2.5L NA Cracked Cylinder Head with Oil Leaking

No visible oil under the car or on the plastic pieces on the bottom of the engine bay. No smoke out of the engine bay or the other end.

    Running Wire Inside Door?

I haven't taken a close look at the CX9's, but most modern day cars now have a molex connector from the cabin to the door Video (start at about 2:40 into the video). Actually, this video gives you a pretty good overview of what's required these days; it's quite involved. It used to be so simple...

Who has changed their transmission fluid?

Slightly off topic (and tech is not what it is today), but my parents had a 1991 Ford Taurus that I took over when I got my license and the transmission went at just under 200k km. Fluid was never replaced prior to the failure.

Brake Controller vs Emergency Braking System

That kit is just the wiring harness to a 4 flat right? I used Curt 57672 to go from 4-flat to 7-way round + 4-flat . No splicing of wires necessary. Will need to run the wires to the engine compartment and into cabin though. Or if you don't need a 7-way and 4-flat, Curt 57184. Or do you...

Who has changed their transmission fluid?

    I just changed mine at 30k miles. It's also a 2022 CX-9.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Looks like my local Mazda Dealership (Toronto, Canada) that I frequent has started "recommending" an AWD service (rear differential and power transfer unit fluids drain and fill) at 48,000 km. FYI on what this dealership service dept is charging in CAD: Rear Diff & Transfer Case Drain and...

2.5T Cracked Cylinder Head/Leaking Coolant Report to the NHTSA

Well at least it was covered under your current powertrain warranty and hopefully the updated parts do not have the issue going forward!

    Thinking about buying a CX-9 - Should I not?

I know of one Reddit post of a 2021 CX9 (approximately 35k miles) with this issue. This could be a one off though. I don't want to scare you into not buying one, I just want you to have all of the facts before you make a decision. I believe for the money, this is by far the best 3-row out there.

2022~2023 CX-9s with Cracked Cylinder Heads?

There is one case that I came across on Reddit of a 2021 CX9. I have a '22 with no issues, but only 31,000 miles. Only thing I noticed is that minuscule leak at the oil control valve.

    Thinking about buying a CX-9 - Should I not?

You mention rebuilt; do you know work was exactly done? If the cylinder head wasn't rebuilt according to the TSB, some think it's not a question of if, but a question of when it will crack.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Yea I saw that. I hate creating waste if I can avoid it, but it's still too much of a hassle for most people.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I'm due for a replacement too. Mazda OEM in Canada looks to be like you said, ~$40 CAD. I see Amazon has a 3-pack (not OEM) for $28, but Amazon is so hit and miss. The K&N runs $45 USD, but since it's washable, could save a few bucks in the long run. I'll have to try to do more digging.
