    identifying camshafts

At the end of the camshafts there should be a pin. If you place them side by side, the lobbes should point at the same direction but the pin is 180 degrees at the other side.

Well im 99% sure since it my dynochart :) And 1kw=1.36 hp ;) And 145 (american? :) )whp there is no way I have :)

The car is rolling on the rollers and the dyno knows the exact weight of the rollers and for that deacceleration it can calculate the driving loss. Not 100% sure about it.

Yes it does vary. The whp is calculated by the drivetrain loss by rolling from redline to 0 rpm-s on free gear ( or was it in the gear you dynoed the car, didn't check that at the dyno time ). That is the way the dyno knows the drivetrain loss.

What there so confusing? Blue is torque, red is engine hp, green is whp. All the dynos calculate engine hp and whp, but most of the users check only whp.

It's still 107whp. Engine power is 145hp which just happens to be 107kw. Just the coincidence.

    You probably didnt measure it?

No information at the moment, but just one question.' How many mm is the cams position pin? The pin that goes in the cam gear? Andrew, you have your cam gears off at the moment , can you measure it from cam gear? Or anyone else maeby? About my car, I will receive my cams in 5-6 of april...

Now, another question, about setting the cam gears. I'm doing the most of it on dyno , but would like to know which way to start going. Intake should be advanced and exhaust retard? Advance mean move the cam counter clock? and retard means clockwise?

    Adjustable cam gears

Adjustable cam gears and cam pos. sensor Hi all, need your help. Need pictures of the adjustable cam gears for P5, I can't find my old pics of Tripoint cam gears. So help is very appreciated! Also what does that cam position sensor reads? Those 1 and 2 spots on the gear but does it react...

Andrew, do you have stock valve springs? And about that idleing, is it rough or is it near normal?

Well , a friend of mine went on dyno today and it seems that we have generally lower numbers than you do. He has full exhaust but with 4-2-1 header and basically the same intake I have. His numbers were: 133hp@6400 161Nm@4500 97whp@6000 So my headwork has gained me around 10hp or is his engine...

So you mean cams should be Intake around 270 with 10.2 lift and exhaust then 280 and 9.7 lift? Will try that then :) EDIT: The company http://www.dbilas-dynamic.de/ which is doing the regrounding for me suggested the following: We recommend for using the car on street a camshaft set with...

Cam gears are coming the same time with cams. 173Nm = 127lb/ft (10Nm=7.37lb/ft). With cam gears I shouldn't leave the intake cam alone I think, so I could bring that power down a little? I will take it on track but not before 2 months, since we have snow here at the moment.

I must say that my whp is low, unfortunately none of the other dyno charts has engine hp for comparison. So you say i should leave the lift same but do duration about 270-280? And I know that I need an ecu but only option would be greddy e-manage but I haven't seen it working on NA P5. And so...

Andrew, tell me about your cam specs in language I understand :) So I could compare it to that stock lift and duration that I mentioned in the first post :)

That lower green line is whp line. Why i have so much lost on the wheels, i don't know, some of it has probably doing something with the winter tyres i had on. Haven't seen any dyno with 115 whp with only exhaust, also Andrew is running low whp numbers.

My stock compression is 9.7:1 (european 323F not US P5) . And that P&P will probably not be so good before the cams and higher fuel pressure, since I'm running lean at the moment.
