    Wtf happened to my car?!

Will removing the VTCS effect the emission output? Not quite sure what the purpose of these valves are for except to create frustration for some who have them.(deadhorse

    Wtf happened to my car?!

Yep. It's the VCTS screws and there are more than one of them so it can happen many times. Dealer said it's a common problem with the 2.0L engine but not common enough for a recall. I found out from another dealer after I tried to take apart my IM that even though I was 990 miles past...

    Under Hood Gremlins

I have a loose butterfly valve in my intake manifold that I've been trying to fix. My symptoms is poor idling when cold and stumbles and tries to die during hard acceleration. Afterwards it throws a check engine light and drives poorly for the next 40 miles and then check engine light goes out...

Factory Service Manual - where to buy?

Just a heads up on this P5 service manual. It's the worst service manual I've ever read. The instructions for replacement and adjustments are incomplete. This manual assumes that you are a trained technician. It also does not contains all the parts of the P5. It won't cost you anything so...

    Progress Rear Sway Bar

Good luck to ya. I never autocrossed but know people who do. Advice to me was to get good sticky tires and lots of practice. What you can do to you car depends on the class your'e competiting in.

    Progress Rear Sway Bar

Unless you autocross on a regular basis and on different courses adjustable bars are only good for bragging rights. Adjustable bars for a daily transportation will only lighten your wallet and create more maintenance. Get a set of stronger adjustable end links. This is $$ better spent. Just my 2...

    racing beat sway bar

I was told that a too large of a sway bar can decrease inside wheel traction during hard cornering. Picture how a sway works and it should make sense.

    Progress Rear Sway Bar

I was trying to replace the screw from the VTCS butterfly valve that got sucked into the engine & killed my #4 sparkplug. My P5 has been running fine since but I was trying to prevent anymore screws from vibrating loose by apllying locktite to the rest. I got the Progress sway bar from Option...

    Progress Rear Sway Bar

Every seems to be buying expensive bars for their car but since this is my work car I went the inexpensive route. My $153 rear Progress sway bar came this after noon after two weeks of waiting; progress was out. I took me less than one hour to install. That's from the minute I opened the box...

    Good online store for Headunits????

All their prices come to about the same. Crutchfield's unit price is more but you get all the necessary hardware and any necessary faceplate for the install. Don't have experience with the other discounters but Crutchfield's customer service is great. An important point in purchasing expensive...

Cell phones causing fires at the pump!?

Is this crock still circulating the internet? Notice the article is dated in '04. Just because you saw it in the news does not mean it's true. I have seen many articles disclaiming this rumor since it start several years ago. As stated in the earlier replies the TV show Myth Buster did a show...

    Bent plug electrode

Raider fan, win or lose. Did I mention I was raised in Oakland. Almost made me cried when they move to smella. If I knew this loose screw problem is so common I would have taken my manifold off and loctite all the screws long ago. Looks like it would take about 3 hours of work if you tag all...

    Can't break tires loose

Geezz. Some people have no sense of humor. Try reading btw the lines and not so literal. The manifold didn't really blow up. It's the common screws on the VICS loosening and getting sucked into the cylinder problem. It's so common they carry these parts at all times. Dealer wants $1245 for a...

    Bent plug electrode

I bought my P5 at Cush in Sept of 2003. Salesman still sends me BD cards and Xmas cards. The tech who repaired my mirror was nice. Didn't have an apointment but he came out and spent the time to check it out and fixed it right in the parking lot. I've moved back to SD since so Cush was a little...

    Bent plug electrode

I went to John Hine Mazda. The adviser told me the tech had made the diagnosis and he had to button it back up before I could leave. Checked under the hood when I got home and all the dust is still on the entire engine and bay. The only thing that the tech did was topped off my radiator. Charged...
