B+M Short Shifter

Looking to get the B+M Short Shifter but have a few questions.

1. I want a boot shifter ( preferably momo) rather then the stock kind. How much would a shifter run me?
2. Where is the best place to get the shifter on-line?
3. What else do I need to install this product that doesnt come with the kit?

Thanks Fellas. Jay:D

I have the B&M and it is great. MY adaptor was 9.00 dollars and the momo shift knob was 90.00. I have pics on this site in the for sale coloum. Search for jayp3 and you will see it.

since you posted this in the P-5 forum we will assume you have a P-5...

1. you want a boot shifter? you mean you want a momo shifter boot? not sure how much the momo shifter boots are...but not very expensive....the shifter itself will run you around $140 unless you can find one on ebay or someone with one for sale....

2. you will just have to shop around....the average cost is $140
3. you need NOTHING other than what comes in the kit to install it....the shifter comes with a E clip to go on the shaft so that the stock boot will stay up....the threads are the same as the stock knob so it will thread right on as well.

Just follow the instructions....ensure you reinstall the oring on top and the Snap ring......becareful with the dust boot on the bottom and don't tear it taking it off the old shifter or putting it on the new one.....and put LOTS of grease on the orings on the outside of the housing for the shifter...it really helps getting it in.

B&M part no. 45071

Here what you get (see pic)

I have the B&M shifter on my Protege and love it. I ended up buying the Leather Mazdaspeed shift knob from Corksport. The threads are a perfect match and the shifter looks very nice and is weighted well. It cost around $59.99 I believe. I didn't want an aftermarket shifter with set screws that always loosen up and cause the knob to keep coming loose. That's why I went with the Mazdaspeed knob.
