I want this Sport20!!!

the back bumper looks kinda different to the one I have.... ? there seems to be an extra bump & line that runs all the way through about 2 inches from the bottom..... mine don't have that.....
is that a restyled back bumper?

Here's some pics of my Australian Spec SP20 (p5) so you can understand all of what's OEM (mine's completely stock until next week!!) so check it out!

The HID headlights have a right hand drive beam pattern. That means you will pretty much blind the hell out of everyone here with them...

The Sport 20 is the hotrod version of the Familia sedan and wagon. The Familia is the Japanese version of the Protege, and the Sport 20 would be best described as the Japanese model of the MP3, sort of.

The Sport 20 doesn't have all the handling goodies of the MP3, I don't think.

If that thing is a double din part, and the Protege 5 does have a double din spot, then it shoudl fit. Din is din is din, for sizing.

And Mazda is not a Ford product, and the Protege is all Mazda.:p

Some neato stuff I pulled from pictures on teh Japan site.

cool seats, why don't ours do that?!?

That's the drawing of the EBD (electronic brake distribution) just shows how much braking power goes to front and rear, not about 4WD.

The same as always...

I can tell is the same as always,

The best stuff is left for Japan and Europe, and we here in the US get what looks the part, but it's not really-really hot.
I was navigating the Mazda Familia Japanese web site and I found they have a special Proteg5 with a 165 hp engine, and 4WD...!!! (omg) :'( :wtf:

Great !(hmm)

Now can you imagine guys what you'll be able to do putting all those horses through the 4 wheels...?
And what if you could fit one of SPOOLING's turbos BUT TO THE 4 WHEEEELLLSSSS...!

Mazda is telling us... get the Mazdaspeed, and this and that, but they already have something that would probably smoke the Mazdaspeed in some sectors...

Like I say, it's all the same...!
(Nissan didn't bring Sylvias or Skyline GTRs, Nothing for years about the Mitsubishi EVOs, Toyota doesn't offer the British 2-door Corolla, Honda the same story with the British Civic Si Type-R, not to mention Renault Clio Sport V6, Golf GTi MKIV 4Motion, etc, etc...)

Later,

First off the 165 is ps, not hp. So it works out to be a little less than you think.

And the all wheel drive version of the Familia only comes with an automatic tranny, which blows chunks big time if you ask me. It is still a cool car, it just should have come with a stick and not a slush box!

The Mazdaspeed Protege does the horsepower thing a different way and makes more power than the Familia Sport 20, or even the Mazdaspeed Familia which made 170 ps N/A style.
