Hey, I waxed my car for the first time today, and I was wondering how long it usually takes you people to wax your cars? I waxed everything but the roof with kit wax I think it's called (too lazy to run out to the garage to check the name, the guy at autozone told me he thought it was the best wax they sell). I wasn't really timing it, but it took me at least 2 hours.....How often should I wax my car if I was my car every few weeks? I am now using the mr. clean autodry system, and it works great! Absolutely no water spots, except for in a few areas where water can settle, and therefore not sheet off the car. Here are a few pics of my car today after the wash and wax. It's sooo shiny, although the pics dont show the shinyness too much....the car looks just as good as it did the day I picked it up new from the dealership!

If you do a full detail (wash, dry, claybar, polish, wax) it will look even BETTER than the day you took it home from the dealer.

:)

dude that thing is clean! paint your headlights blk. it'll look fifty times better. anyway, i usually wax my car once a month using meguiars gold glass clearcoat wax.

I use spray on caranuba wax about once or twice a week in the summer. during the winter i slack and it only gets it once every two or three weeks. i did my first wax two weeks after i got it=).

yea clay it and itll gleam, i honestly think that mr clean strips the wax, like a dish soap, i may try a car wash soap see if it any better but the water doesnt bead at all afterwards even in rain

The Mr. Clean stuff is more acidic than regular car wash soap. Yes, it strips a small amount of wax off the car..there was a thread around here somewhere that discussed this.

man, don't wax your car too often, as it can, and will damage the paint....I haven't tried claybar, but am really thinking about using it. I use a nice quality car wash soap, a rim on everything, then wax only like once every two to three weeks...I also am gonna start using a special glass wax thing for the headlights and tailights....keeps them shinny like the car, and doesn't give them that Foggy look older headlights will get...it prevents that..I wish I knew the name

Plain old polish works great on headlamps.
