Need help for a race.

nocar

PS!
Potential Scammer!
The race:
stock msp vs stock? 2003 audi a4 1.8t

His car is stock but he might have gotten a chip I dont know. The race will be held on a local track and it will be from a stand still.

I was thinking..
Boost controller @ 12 psi
115 Octane Fuel
Colder Spark Plugs
Ecu Flash

I dont have much time or money so I need the minimum to be able to beat a a4 with a chip just incase from a stand still.

What chip is he running ? If he's chipped, you're going to get owned off the start (if he's awd), and the 1.8T's aren't exactly slow to begin with. You're going to have to launch at 12 psi, which won't be easy, or smooth for that matter. If he has a chip, it should be really close IMO. If he doesn't, and you get a decent launch, you should win.
Good job doing at the track and good luck! (canada)

EDIT: Not all 1.8T's are Quattro, that is correct.

If he's chipped you're probably going to be owned period. Otherwise it should be a pretty good race. German cars aren't known for being lightweight, lol. From a stand still he's got a big advantage though if the car is quattro. AFAIK not all A4 1.8Ts have quattro on them.

take out everything inside the car that you don't need, spare tire, jack..etc, if it was me i would take out the back seat as well

you should easily take him with those mods even if he has a chip. what kind of boost controller?

whats the best way to launch the msp?
launch at 3000rpm but whatever you do dont dump the clutch or you will get major wheel hop. That seems to work best for me.

I may put it the awr front and rear motor mounts and throw on some street drag radial more importantly work on my launch. Joepmbc for the boost and definetly race fuel is a must so i dont get detonation. Its only for one race, we havnt decided how much money, imguessing 250-500

I have a serious problem with wheelspin from 1st to 2nd even with slicks. I shift to fast its like instant into the next gear. Should I just slow down my 1-2 shift? Any ideas? I always spin into third but they hook pretty quick so thats not a big deal. Going into 3rd is my strongest point I am confident I will gain a car length on the audi from my 2-3 shift.

As for the awr mounts I think I will need them esp because he has AWD. I know that off the line I can gain a half car length on my friends mp3 when i had mounts in my old mp3.

Put your spare and another on the back,.... again less weight. And don't eat before the race. With all that, the car should break less than 2700!
(Try not to take me too seriuos).

haha lol
well im not going to do any weight reduct

I used to do weight reduct- passenger seat, rear seat, spare, wooden board in the trunk over the spare. The car would actually raise up about an inch and i would have to lower the coilovers to make up for it. That shows how much weight was taken off. Idk if the performance was any noticeable though, maybe a little less slugish.

you should definetly be looking at low to mid 14s with your mods. Try to get rid of as much wait as you can. I ran a 15.0 with just intake at 6psi and I only raced twice so I know I could of done better.

is it a quattro? ....if its just front wheel you can eat him for breakfast with 12 psi....you can take him with only intake and turboback and stock boost

Regardless if he is AWD you should take him no matter what. Even if he is chipped those cars are slow heavy ass mother fuckers, which is why a lot people sell them because they buy them thinking they are fast soon to realize that they run the quarter mile in about 17 secs and 0-60 in about 8-9 seconds give or take (AWD or not).

U should be able to beat him with ur stock MSP even if his chiped with 12 psi it should be a peice of cake read this article and have some confidence and watch out for ur wheel hop

you should be able to beat him stock(even if its chipped), they put a 170hp motor in a heavy ass car, what do you think will happen when you do that, unless of course you are a bad driver, then he wins.

Ive beaten Lexus ISs with my stock msp and their 215 hp compared to audi's 180hp just make sure u shift right i think 2500 rpm for take of is good
