here is the dyno run, hope I attached it right. This is at 5psi. Seems the adj cam gears and camshafts only lend to keeping the power running through the band, they don't seem to add HP

WoW, great power bro. Did you install your clutch yet? I know it was slipping when you got your turbo installed. :D ( I was there with my MSP getting the FMIC kit done when they installed your kit)
If its not installed yet, you might see more power after, because it wont slip as much. :D

No, haven't gotton to that yet, poss could have some more power there. As soon as I get the $$$$Was a little disappointed, not with the kit with the other parts, thought they would add 5-10 HP more but getting more power through the band is good to. Thanks

Suprised with the numbers..They dyno'd a flying protege kit at 6psi..and got
149hp and 173tq

Good luck w/ the kit..and get some realy fuel management in there..i am sure you will be able to yeild better numbers!

Yes can't wait for the EMS to come out, but I am patient. Need to get the clutch though ASAP. Not sure but can't seem to get the car past 4psi, so not sure if its the clutch because its slipping and I can feel it lagging or the boost gauge is reading wrong. Will test it out over the next few days, but maybe with a better clutch a few mor HP may be yeilded

Also i am very suprised about your clutch slipping so bad..i had a nitrous kit..and now the turbo..and my clutch does slip..but not nearly as bad as yours sounds!

(scratch)

Clutch won't really yeild an HP but unleash it!

:p

Might as well get a flywheel on while your at it..it will help with spool up!

yeah shopping yesterday for the clutch & flywheel, SR Motorsports has the best deal so far 699$ no tax or shipping for ACT and indigo flywheel, just need to call them up for the specs and make sure it will hold for the power I want in the future.

don't get the indigo flywheel...paul has it and has had problems...get the jdm mazdaspeed flywheel ($150) and only 15lbs (2 lbs lighter than stick) but much stronger than the indigo

You came out with very good numbers for 5psi. The third gear and fourth gear pulls were very close and the A/F was really smooth for an FMU

I was there for the pulls and it made it thru like a champ. Ran strong but you need a clutch.

Joel.. i have the Fidanza flywheel... My problem ended up being a defective clutchmasters clutch, not the flywheel like we thought. When the tranny wsas opened the flywheel was in perfect shape. I have the ACT clutch and fidanza flywheel now..

the flywheel is very light and i find you need to get the rpm's a little higher on start-ups but besides that i like it.

SI- nice #'s, i need to dyno mine very soon!!!!(yes)

I noticed you guys let off at 6100rpm's, it looks like the power was still going up.. if you took it to 6500 you think you might have had more hp?

It seems like it was because of the N/A cams he has installed. It would have eventually fallen off in the next 500 RPM because of the excessive overlap. The car really didnt need to go into the high 6's because of the undue stress associated with tensile loads on the rods.
If he was forged then we may have shown the difference. Also once he gets the EMS we can control the related detonation characteristics inherent in these engines with the stock ECU.

Thanks guys, but which is better fidanza or indigo, the price seems right from SR. I like the fact that the indigo is a little heavier so I won't have to rev as much but can it handle the HP I eventually want or am I better off with the fidanza

Also I think the Hp # on the dyno could be higher. I have a leak on the turbo where it connects to the header (can't get past 4psi)and I think the numbers could be higher. Left a message for Andy, just waiting for him to call me back. Thanks again

The cams did exactly what they are supposed to do. Give more area under the curve. Now add the FS-ZE intake manifold and you'll what those cams can do for you and a turbo...
