From what I have heard it will reduce wheel hop alot but it wont get rid of it completely. You have to remember we have fwd cars

Does ES (Energy Suspension) make inserts for the MSP motor mounts? Their website has a horrible layout, and i could not find any info on them. If they dont, a bunch of forum members here should campaign the production of them, and per my experience with them, for the money they cannot be beat. I paid 30 shipped from HPautoworks.com, and install took 20 minutes. A great alternative to 120 dollar (i think thats what i saw in the GB section here) solid mounts. I have 0 wheelhop in any high grip dry condition, and extremely minimal hop in wet conditions.

hell yes you should...lol our stock ones are very flexible and bounces the engine around alot. after putting in a pair of firm ones..the car was stiffer and the response time was alot better.
it vibrates yes but not as bad as some people make it out to be....if you head up the meet on saturday you can check out the ride.

install o front mounts

anyone got pics of the install on front ones and does it help with wheel hop to do just the front ones how hard to install just front ones

i have a friend who was experiencing wheel hop like crazy on his msp, everytime he launches hard, the car shakes like crazy! I told him to get some motor mounts, and he responded with " I'm not worried about that, all i gotta do is rotate my tires, and that should take care of it" I said uhh sure if you really believe that.

and to sherbertrocket, i have another friend with a spec v who was experiencing wheel hop also, he bought some motor mount inserts and i installed it for him, and his wheel hop was gone! we felt the vibration but you could barely feel it though. And i believe that you should replace the front and back mounts to maximize the effect of the mounts.

Do you have to take the motor out to put the rear ones in..cause you dont for the front right?? and would get front and rear soft be better than just front hard?? thanks for any help

This is repost but...

Man the wheel hop is ******* horrible in this car. Linux has hard mounts that eliminate the hop but they do vibrate the interior. However, I kind of like it, it feels like a built in seat massage.(lol2) (chair) (lol2)

In the rain this car has scary wheel hop. Heck on dry pavement without practiced throttle/clutch application is feels like you are about to bounce the motor right DA **** outta da car! Post flash it is much better for me but only because the boost comes on more smoothly than before.

Hello! well to answer BMC's question i had the advantage of using the shop' lifts so doing the mounts on my friend's car was pretty straight forward and easy. I work at a dealership so i'm kinda lucky. I dont know how the set up is on the msp but when i did my friend's spec v i could do it on my backyard, with air tools i could do it in an hour without air i could probably do it for three hours.

and to fastlane, i dont think you have to take the motor out to get the rear motor mount, I've taken out a few mounts on a lot of cars and i've never had to take the motor out. If it looks tight, just find the right angle and BOOM it's out! I'm not familiar with the msp set up, but i think it shouldnt be that hard. hope this helps!

You have to take out both if you replace both. (with awrs)

i agree with you yashooa, when my friend did it the first time, i thought the car was breaking down! It scared me for a second but i figured it out eventually.

Yes I love my car but it does take a practiced touch to drive it hard from the get-go. The vibration from what I could tell was not that bad at all for me. Now someone else may hate it but if I can smack the fuel hard without worring about wheel hop induced death of an axle or some other component then I think I can live with it.
PM Linux Racer he installed them on a Turboed MP3 so it would be the same procedure for an MSP.

i still dont know if i want hard or soft? is it a huge difference

go for the hard type, and yes it is a big difference! sorry to keep using my friend's spec v for a reference but it did help a lot! he gets no wheel hop at all!
