For what it's worth, something to look for. I was just dealing with an intermittent brake warning error for the past few weeks. I never saw it myself, only seemed to happen when my wife was driving to work early in the morning.
Parking Brake, Radar Cruise Disabled, etc. errors cycling through on the dashboard. She was able to get photos, and I saw one of them mentioned low brake fluid. Once I saw that, I knew what was happening. The rear brake pads were worn to a point where the brake fluid was dropping in the master cylinder just to that point where the low level sensor would kick on. When that happens, it must trigger all the other warnings. I had pads on hand from last time I inspected and saw they were getting low. Slapped them in and good to go. Once piston was pushed in all the way, the fluid level was probably back to 3/4 of the way up.
Did you check brake fluid level? Do you know the condition of the brake pads? Ours is a 2022 with about 40k miles. You say you're hearing squealing, maybe your rear pads are worn out and it's lowered the fluid level below the sensor?
I just took it to the dealer!! It’s crazy how they said everything was fine. Mazda is in contact with the dealership. Because they don’t want to do the repairs under the warranty without charging me more money but Mazda has escalated it and has been sued recently for the bigger model car for this issue!
So, what did the Mazda dealership service department say when you brought the car in ?
They didn’t want to check the vehicle and look at the issued without me spending a ton more money. So I reached out to Mazda who said they don’t understand why the servicing isn’t being done, but it’s not wear and tear tbh, it’s a hazard that exists in this car and as I’ve been finding, many others too. It’s not an easy fix. Can cost thousands and it depends on if it’s a warranty covered part or not. But it’s barely been driven. The car shouldn’t just have malfunctions out of no where.
No but I’m getting involved with one.
If your car is still under warranty take it to the dealer and get it fixed.
Warranties are tricky, they don’t just cover everything, it’s not the damage. It’s the matter of it being such a malfunction that it’s causing an unsafe driving condition. It’s not wear and tear, 4 sensors malfunctioning on an car that’s barely been driven isn’t wear and tear,
I would suggest that before you start this process, you first need to determine what's causing the issue, what the fix is, and whether Mazda is covering the repair under warranty.
I think you'd need this information in order to determine exactly what your lawsuit applies to, and what resolution you want Mazda to take. At the moment, it sounds like one or two different problems may be occurring, a sensor issue and brake noise.
I'm not sure you'll find many members here who have had experience with this particular issue, especially because there isn't enough specific information for what is causing the problem and what the fix is or how much it costs. From what I've personally seen in my time on this forum, the emergency braking is usually a result of the driver making assumptions about whether the car ahead, which is making a turn, will clear the lane in time. I have seen one or two cases where the car mistakes oncoming traffic on a curving 2-lane road as a vehicle in front, or a very sunny day causing glare that triggers an error when the sunlight hits the sensor just right, but nothing where the car just suddenly emergency brakes for no apparent reason.
I recommend that you bring the car in so that the dealer can diagnose the issue and repair it. At that point you'll have more specific info, and you can use that additional info to properly poll the community.
I’ve actually found tons of people on other forums. And there’s pre existing lawsuits about this. So im sure Mazda is aware!

And yes but I don’t tailgate my traffic! The car isn’t picking up anyone in front of me and it’s also not setting the brakes correctly. My Mazda app gave me a critical safety alert and said do not drive the car, pull over immediately and put wooden blocks in front of the tires, park on flat surface.
Shocker that the OP hasn't come back. LOL. He thinks there are many others with this issue? His post about it is the first I have seen on any Mazda forums.
Then maybe u haven’t been on enough forums? I’ve already got many people with the issue. U can also do a quick google search on this. It’s on the internet if u know how to use it.
To be fair, it's been less than a day, and it is possible that they're having this exact issue with their car. With such an unheard of issue in the CX-5, it's much more important that they get as much info as possible before moving forward with a lawsuit.
It’s not unheard of for Mazda. Do a google search. I’ve already seen many people on Facebook with the same problem.

Just took it to the dealership who said nothing was wrong with the car and then said I needed to pay a ton more to do a more in depth look….
