Upgrade CarPlay Module to Wireless? CX-5 2023

Good afternoon. I currently have a 2023 Mazda CX 5 from South America. As you know, the specifications here are poor and the CarPlay that comes with it is wired. I am currently looking for the carplay module to make it wireless. Has anyone been able to update it? I have asked and on Aliexpress they tell me that from version 2021 onwards there is no wireless module :(

I second @p38cyq about the dongle being a good option. However, I would avoid AliExpress for the purchase. The quality of products I've gotten from there hasn't been great.

If you're trying to upgrade your 2023 Mazda CX-5 to wireless CarPlay, I know how frustrating it is that AliExpress doesn't offer a module for newer models. Have you looked into Yeloos ? I got mine several weeks ago, serves perfectly

On my other car that has wired CarPlay, I got the Ottocast wireless module and have been happy with it.

It does take longer than they say to connect (about 50 seconds) but has been reliable for nearly a year.

The only thing to be aware of is that it doesnt like connecting up if the phone is active eg you are using an app. If the phone is locked/not being used it connects seamlessly.

Yeah there are heaps of these dongles floating around, and they are pretty cheap. I have both the Ottocast and the EKIY carplay adapter and find the EKIY unit to be faster to connect when i get in the car.

Only thing im concerned about with these things is they take power from the cars battery, even when you turn off the car. I think if you left it plugged in and didnt drive for a few weeks (like if you went on vacation) that could be bad.

Do you think so? My Otto cast plugs into the usb ports and I doubt they are powered on when the ignition is turned off?

My Ottocast U2 Air is always powered on. I did a firmware upgrade on it after iOS 18.01 as the screen was freezing, seemed to fix the problem. Have had it for about 1 year, quite happy with it. Although it remains powered on I have not had a battery drain issue.

Nah i'm pretty sure they are, at least with my unit the light is still on when the car is off. I just hate that these iactive batteries cost so much to replace.

The issue is that after you turn the car off, the USB port says powered on for a bit. After the port powers down, when you open a door, the USB port powers back on and stays on for some time again.
I had observed this by leaving my phone plugged in, and noticed it getting a charge after the power shuts down to the car and as soon as I open a door.
