When i got my cx-5 i always wondered why my drivers power seat motor for front and back adjustment would cut out after a while and not work again until i unplugged the harness and plugged it back in again, i finally got around to taking it out. anyone know where i can get a good quality replacement of this motor, i found a generic one on ebay from china but if there are any better ones out there let me know.

okay so i noticed the part i bought has a slightly different connector than the part i have, the seller said they have a motor that is a 5 pin motor but it will still work with what i have, so they'll be shipping that one instead

junkyard parts are always a gamble, but sometimes you can get lucky. If you're feeling adventurous, might be worth a shot. Just make sure you can return it if it doesn't work.

Strangely the power seat motor on your 2014 CX-5 has the manufacture date of 8/6/2016?

You may want to consider replacing both the long and short flexible steel braided cables while you’re there.

the car is a rebuilt title, so maybe the whole seat assembly was replaced with one form a 2016, the carfax says it was stolen, and there are some obvious signs of previous crash damage on the front left side of the car so maybe the drivers seat airbag deployed at one point.

and i'll probably just wait till i have a problem with that cable to replace it, since the motor wasn't hard to get to anyway, didn't even have to unbolt the seat

It might be possible that when they replaced the seat to fix the damage, that the replacement seat 2016 came from a flood car. That motor looks terrible.
