Firewall Wiring Grommet Popped Loose - Need Help!

While installing a boost gauge and fishing the vac line through the firewall wiring loom grommet (the big grommet behind the glove box) I pushed too hard and popped the seal - Doh! I tried to refit the grommet over the white plastic piece but did not have enough access. As it is now the grommet is loose and obviously doesn't seal like it used to. I was hoping that someone might have a suggestion to help. Need to somehow stretch the grommet over the plastic piece without ripping the entire engine bay apart. Impossible or not? Thanks

Can you get your arm down there on the engine side?

If you can't access the grommet from the interior, consider getting a new one and making a slit in it with a razor blade to both get the wires in and install the grommet more easily.

I can barely get two hands on it but don't have enough room to maneuver and stretch the grommet over the plastic piece.
