Sprint Booster upgrade mod for my 08' Mazda CX9's

Anyone have a chance to try one of these (Sprint Booster) mod chips for your CX9 or other cars? Sprint Booster is a simple "plug and play" mod that changes the sensitivity of your fly by wire accelerator making it much more sensitive with 3 modes for driving (Normal, Sport and Aggressive). I picked up a used one on Ebay and I have to say the results are pretty amazing!! I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried one on their CX9 and what their thoughts are.

Installation took all of about 5min. The 9 now is beast in the hole shots and completely eliminated the "peddle-lag" when passing on the fwy. When you punch it the sucker takes off, no lag....quick direct power. Just the fact you are increasing the response of the accelerator makes a huge difference. I was pretty skeptical at first but after driving a couple of days I am a complete believer. Worth every penny :-) A must have for anyone who likes to push it a little with their Zoom-Zoom.

From what I just read on this, you can achieve the same results this does by depressing the accelerator pedal more. All this doing is telling the ECU that the Accelerator pedal position is different from what it really is. The actual "pedal lag" is not gone since this is not modifying the actual electrical signal speed on the drive by wire mechanism. e.g you press the accelerator 1/4 of the way and the sprint booster is telling the ecu is halfway, you are going to get the same result if you would have pressed the pedal halfway.
This is just from what I read and understood, I don't have one and I'm not against anyone trying something new, but I though I would share.

This is true, simplistically stated, however the "perception" that the car responds quicker for less pedal travel is indeed there. If you are normally used to pressing the pedal to achieve a desired outcome a certain distance, by decreasing that travel limit gives you a sensation of increased sensitivity. You essentially need much less pedal travel to get the same results. Because of this you can actually get up to higher/desired RPM's/speed in less time. If you put two identical CX9's head to head next to each other....one with the SB and one without I assure you the one with the SB WILL jump out of the hole shot faster. Just be decreasing the pedal travel will give you that slight advantage over the 9 without it. Simple as that.......I was highly skeptic when I did buy one and note only paid $200 due to it being used only for 6 months, but hey.....it does work.

To me the CX9's have always felt like they had a mushy accelerator pedal yet still have the over all power available - just a little slow to respond. The SB has taken that away completely and most definitely has made it more fun to drive. I tend to drive my CX9 pretty aggressively at times....maybe too much so. But I can say based on my previous driving experiences and "street light" challenges from other CUV's it made a pretty big difference. I have raised more than one eyebrow at the street lights. Just my .02.

I always use +/- mode when driving in hilly areas. Plus I would be afraid of an aftermarket electrical part changing the electrical properties of the oem computer system.... I would be afraid the Toyota scenario would happen. lol.
