Gauge Needle Repair

[hi-perf]

Hey everyone, first off, this is not hi-perf. I am his roommate and i tried to install his gauge rings for him today that he couldnt do.

I accidently broke off the temperature gauge on my his car. I need to know a way to repair the needles if possible so that I don't have to pay him for a whole new gauge cluster. Help me fix this before he gets home!!!

oh man, i feel really bad about this... hope you weren't using the rubber mallot idea when this happened. he posted about having problems with the guage rings... i was waiting to see some pics of it.

may his wrath not come down upon your head. there's no real way to fix the guage needles. hope you can find a salvaged car and get the guage cluster off it. they're pricey though.

anywhere from $100 for a salvaged one to over $700 from the dealer. good luck. hope you can find one. i recommend looking on car-parts.com

oh yeah... where did it break? if it broke down at the base, you can try a dab of silicone and see if that works. if it's in the middle of the needle, i'd say it's better to just deal with the broken needle.

its not the orange needle, its like the pin underneath the needle circle thingy that holds it up.

I think hes talking about that little black needle perpendicular to the gauges; that holds it up when you turn your car off and it drops and settles on that little tiny needle.

If thats the needle he is talking about just glue it back on. Its not gonna cause any harm if you do that. You should still tell him.
